What Is Your Passion?
Effecting Change Through Your Passion
Almost everyone in America has an opinion about health care. There are those who love the legislation and those who don't. One thing for sure it has been driven by the passion of President Barack Obama fueled by the memory of his mother battling cancer with no health insurance, which prevented her from getting the health care she needed.
Becoming President of the world's super power nation, empowered him to affect change that is directly driven by his passion. President Obama was relentless to ensure passage of this legislation. He endured ridicule, scorn and whatever else to make sure no one else battling a life-threatening illness would have to do so without access to health care.
Jesus was even more passionate to fulfill the work of His Father. In essence, He did not want anyone to succumb to the wiles of the devil which ultimately would cause them to miss eternal life with His Father. This passion propelled Him to the cross.
Passion is being willing to suffer all in order to effect change. Many of us are not impassioned enough to make a difference. We idly waste away precious moments, time, talent and influence without ever tapping into the inherent passion that resides in each of us. It is our passion that forges us ahead to victory.
What is your passion? Or, have you ever stopped to think about it. What is it that you would do regardless of the consequences or the money?
The majority of us do not operate in our passion. We meander through life with one endless job after another without ever knowing what is it that we would do with all our heart regardless of the monetary compensation. We have no idea what it is that would cause us to lay down everything--including our very life.
Some claim that it is to walk with Jesus. I say claim because some of those very people are afraid to utter His name in public and they dare not display their loyalty and commitment on their jobs.
Passion brings about purpose in our lives. Passion unleashes hidden potential for greatness and fulfillment of destiny. Passion is one of those inexplicable characteristics that you recognize when you see it. Passion cannot be hidden or bottled up. It is a driving force that propels you to greatness. Passion enables you to say as Jesus did, not my will but thine will be done.
