Happy Spring!

As the vibrant hues of spring begin to bloom, it's time for us to gear up and ensure our palm tree services are in full swing. Spring is a crucial season for palm tree care, as it marks the beginning of renewed growth and vitality.

Springtime often brings increased pest activity. This makes it essential for us to remain vigilant in monitoring for signs of infestation, as infestation can lead to disease. One disease that we have noticed has been a little worse this year is Lethal Bronzing.

Lethal Bronzing, also known as Texas Phoenix Palm Decline (TPPD), is a devastating plant disease primarily affecting palm trees. It is caused by a bacterium-like organism called a phytoplasma, which is spread by tree-hopping insects.

Symptoms of Lethal Bronzing include premature dropping of fruit, wilting, and discoloration of fronds, ultimately leading to the death of the palm tree.

Currently, there is no known cure for Lethal Bronzing, but we do offer treatments to help combat it!

Treatment for this disease would consist of 4 inoculations, each 3 months apart, in which we would inject an antibiotic into the palm in order to reverse the infection which would then prevent it from reoccurring. We recommend treating as soon as possible for best results.
