Thanks to the incredible generosity of our sponsors, golfers, donors, volunteers, and dinner guests, our 19th annual golf outing raised critical support for programs that help thousands of New Yorkers access addiction treatment, mental health care, supportive and transitional housing, veterans services, programs for young mothers, older adult services, and integrated behavioral health care.

Following a wonderful day on the course, guests gathered for a cocktail reception and awards dinner featuring inspiring remarks from our Board Member Vincent Pitta, Esq., whose leadership over the past 19 years has made this signature event a success. Mr. Pitta and our CEO Mitchell Netburn were proud to surprise Mickey Cekovic, Chief Financial Officer/Chief Information Officer at Pitta Bishop & Del Giorno and Pitta LLP with a special recognition for his many years of behind-the-scenes dedication to making the golf outing run seamlessly.

Samaritan Daytop Village runs some of the state’s only veteran-specific recovery programs, where we serve approximately 400 veterans each year. As part of our support, we take time to honor and recognize their service. This year’s 250th anniversary celebration of the founding of our nation presented a perfect opportunity, giving our veterans the chance to participate in a special ceremony at the Kings County Criminal Court in Brooklyn.

Our Color Guard, composed of military veteran clients and staff, presented the U.S., military services, and POW/MIA flags in the courtroom. Two veterans program clients also shared what it meant to them to have defended our nation's founding principles.

We thank Supervising Judge Hon. Keshia Espinal and the Kings County Criminal Court for inviting our vets to take part in this memorable occasion!
