What Makes a Good
Reunification Therapy Order?
A well-written reunification therapy order can truly set the process up to be successful, by helping both parties understand the goals of therapy, why it is important, and the expectations of the parents and children. In this brief article we share things we think should be in an order, and share sample order language we have seen in various orders over the years that has been helpful to parties' engaging in reunification therapy in a productive way. (So yes, you may see something here you wrote! :) Apologies we do not know the original authors of all the language in the sample order attached.)

It is essential that the reunification order includes requesting both parents to participate in the process, because it encourages everyone in the child’s family structure to engage in healthy, honest behaviors, and create a supportive environment for the child.
