What Now
by Father Casey
This is why we’ve been talking about salt and light for months. This is why we’ve been considering who we’re called to be, and what is actually ours to do as followers of Christ. This is why we’ve been wrestling with how to be courageous reconcilers in a divided world.

The merciful and loving Kingdom of God would need servants, and Jesus would be looking at us.
Staying faithful to Christ’s way is not a strategy for success. Being a follower of Jesus isn’t a technique for winning. It’s about manifesting greatness through service. It’s about moving to the bottom, rather than ...

Advent Festival:
A World's Fair of Saints
This Sunday, November 10 from 10:00am to 11:00am, grab your passports, come to the Nave, and get ready for a worldwide tour of saints! While Christians around the world prepare for the birth of Jesus, they also celebrate the lives of the saints whose feast days occur during Advent. At this intergenerational festival, you’ll have a chance to meet St. Lucy of Syracuse and King Kamehameha of Hawaii; you’ll travel from the mountains of Mexico to the highlands of Scotland, all the while learning about those who lived lives of faithful service to God.
Additionally, throughout Advent join us for a very special formation opportunity: The Saints of Advent: Patient & Brave & True. For full details of all our Advent and Christmas offerings, click here.

Our annual Kirking of the Tartans where we remember and give thanks for Scotland and the Scottish Episcopal Church and the profound impact they made on The Episcopal Church here in the United States will take place Sunday, November 24 at the 11:15am service.
The actual Kirking of the Tartans (kirking simply means blessing) happens in the middle of the 11:15am service when a procession of tartan banners representing different Scottish clans follow bagpipes to the altar to receive a blessing. If you have a scarf, a pin, a kilt or anything with your family’s tartan on it, you are invited to join in the procession and present it to be blessed as well. Banners will be available for use in the parade.
A reception will follow the service in the Parlor. To volunteer to bring a dish please sign up at the EMF table in the gathering space. (Choose between deviled eggs, Scottish eggs, mashed potatoes, scones or Scottish gingerbread).
