What is Pure Barre?

Pure Barre is a total body workout that lifts your seat, tones your thighs and burns fat in record-breaking time. Utilizing the ballet barre to perform small isometric movements set to fantastic music, Pure Barre is the fastest, most effective, yet safest way to change your body. Students see results in just 10 classes.

Pure Barre is intelligent exercise. The technique protects your joints as it does not involve any bouncing or jumping. Each strength section of the workout is followed by a stretching section in order to create long, lean muscle without bulk. The workout launches a full blown attack on the areas of the body all women struggle with: abs, hips, seat and arms. It defies gravity by tapering everything in and lifting it up.

The workout requires such focus that you block "life" out for the hour allowing you to obtain the mental benefits achieved in yoga or meditation. A transformed body and a clear head in just one hour- it doesn't get much better than this.

Where Is Pure Barre Westlake Located?

The studio address is: 33576 Detroit Road, Avon, Ohio 44011.  We are located on the Northeast corner of Detroit Road & Nagel Road in the Drug Mart Plaza.  (We are in between Martinzing Dry Cleaning and the tanning salon.)

If you will be taking I-90 to the studio, we are conveniently located off of the new I-90 entrance: Exit #155.  Once you get off at Exit #155, go South on Nagel Road and we are approximately 0.2 miles off of the exit on your left hand side.  (FYI: if you use Google Maps on an iPhone it appears the software has not updated to recognize this exit yet.)
Do I Need To Show Up Early For My First Class?

Please show up 15 minutes early for your first class.  Before taking your first class you will need to fill out a Client Waiver and Intake Form.  You will also need some time to put your things away, get your equipment, and select a spot in the studio.  Arriving 5-10 minutes before every other class will give you plenty of time to get set up for class.

*Please note, if you are more than 5 minutes late to class, you will not be permitted to take class.  This is for your safety and safety of others taking class.
What Should I Bring To Class?

We provide all of your equipment for class.  All you will need is a pair of socks (socks with grippies on the bottom work best*).  We also suggest bringing a water bottle and a small towel to wipe off sweat.

We built a "Cubby Room" just for you. You will be able to store your belongings in a cubby, hang your coat on our coat rack, and leave your shoes in our shoe trays.  Please be mindful of leaving valuables in the Cubby Room or in your car parked outside of the studio.

Please Note: shoes or boots of any kind are not permitted in the actual studio.  We have carpet in our studio and go to great lengths to keep it clean for each of our clients, as we utilize the carpet and floor for several of our exercises.

*Socks are required in the studio.  You may wear any socks you want; however, if you have socks with grippies on the bottom, those tend to work best.  We sell Pure Barre Sticky Socks at the studio (they cost $12-$15 per pair, depending on the style).  You do not have to purchase our socks, but they are available.
What Should I Wear To Class?

Please feel free to wear whatever you feel most comfortable working out in.  We do ask that you wear a pant or short that at least comes to your knees, a top that covers your midriff, and a pair of socks.

With that said, our standard Pure Barre outfit is: long athletic pants or cropped athletic pants, a t-shirt or tank top, sports bra, and Pure Barre Sticky Socks.
Do I Have to Have Dance Experience to Be Able To Take a Pure Barre Class?

Absolutely not.  Although Pure Barre is considered "barre fitness" and our studio is lined with ballet barres, dance experience is not a requirement or even a recommendation.  The Pure Barre technique is inspired from Pilates, ballet and athletics.  We do not use dance terms when we teach class or leave you un-guided during any part of class.

Pure Barre welcomes people of all fitness levels.  One of the best things about our technique and the training our teachers go through, is that we are able to modify each exercise for every client throughout class.  We keep class sizes small so that the teacher is able to help each and every person throughout class.  There are questions on our Client Intake Form used to better understand each of you and any limitations you may have, whether it be from an injury or a physical concern.

During class you work at your own pace.  We offer options to makes things more difficult or less difficult.  Always be mindful of your body and only go as far as you are comfortable.  As you continue to take class you will be amazed at the strength and flexibility you gain.  You will look back in a year and remember your first class and be amazed at what you have accomplished.
What If I'm Not a Teeny Tiny Ballerina?

Neither are we!  We strive to make our studio a place where everyone will feel comfortable.  We know that everyone is unique and has their own goals for what they want to accomplish with Pure Barre, and we are 100% committed to help you reach those goals.  Whether your goals include losing weight, increasing flexibility, building strength, or just taking time for yourself, there are several other clients just like you.

Another great thing about the Pure Barre technique is that while it is high intensity, it is very low impact.  In other words, you are going to get a great workout without putting excessive stress on your joints.  So if you have a little extra weight that possibly makes running or jumping cause pain or stress to your joints, Pure Barre may be just what you're looking for.  We focus on very tiny isometric movements, so size truly does not matter.  Pure Barre is one of the fastest most effective ways to change your body shape.  We see the best results when clients take 3-4 classes per week.
Can Men Take Class?

Men are absolutely welcome to take our class.  Although you will usually find a majority of women in our classes, we have some men brave enough to take class.

We will also offer special classes called "Bring on the Men," where we offer a special rate for you and your man (or brother, dad or friend) to come take a class together with other clients and their men.  It's always a fun class take!
I'm Coming To Class Straight From Work, Is There A Place I Can Change?

Yes.  We have two fitting/changing rooms.  We also have hangers in our Cubby Room, so you don' t have to shove your nice work clothes into a cubby.
Why Are You Called "Pure Barre Westlake" But You Are Located In Avon, Ohio?

We know this is very confusing and want to apologize for all of the confusion and frustration.  When the franchise was purchased, we had already signed a lease for a spot in the Promenade at Crocker Park in Westlake, Ohio.  So everything was set up as "Pure Barre Westlake" including all of the legal documents.  When we began the build out process, we ran into several permitting and zoning issues with the city.  Unfortunately we were unable to find a location in Westlake where we could open a Pure Barre studio, so we selected a space as close to the city line as possible.  We are thrilled with the new location and the convenience of the studio location now that the new I-90 highway entrance is open. We thank you for supporting us through this change and all of the confusion.
When Are Classes Offered?

Here is our schedule:

What Happens If I Sign Up For Class, But Will Not Be Able to Make It?

This is not a problem.  We do have a limited number of spots in each class.  If a class is full and you try to sign up, you will be added to a wait-list*. This is why we have our "Cancellation Policy" and ask that everyone help us create the best experience for each of our clients.

If you have signed up for a class and then something comes up, please cancel your class at least 2 hours before the class is scheduled to begin.  This will enable a wait-listed person to get a spot in the class.  In order to cancel your class all you need to do is log onto our scheduling site and cancel the class or you can send us an email at: westlake@purebarre.com.

I've come to the studio and the front door was locked but the lights were on?

When class begins (if there is no one at the front desk) we lock the front door for safety.  During class it is not possible to tend to the front of the studio if someone walks in, so we prohibit this by locking the door when class begins.  *We use the back exit door to leave the studio in the event of an emergency while the front door is locked.

If you stop by the studio outside of taking of class, please keep in mind our
