What To Expect & How To Prepare for Retreat
Our firm retreat is almost one week away. Whether you're attending in person or virtually, here's what you need to know.
Your Retreat Agenda
ACTION TO TAKE PRIOR TO RETREAT
Uncovering Your Unconscious Biases: Prepare For Our DEI Event with Expert Mindi Wells
What stereotypes do you have about others and how does it affect your behavior (like when you see a driver with a Michigan license plate or when you see someone wearing a Steelers jersey)? You might already recognize some of the stereotypes you hold (explicit biases), but did you know that you also have unconscious biases that reside in your subconscious? As part of Rea's commitment to supporting all individuals on our team, we're talking about identifying, addressing and overcoming unconscious bias at retreat on Friday, Nov. 4 during our diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) event with Mindi Wells of Wells Law LLC. Mindi will challenge us to create a more inclusive environment.

To prepare for the session, please set aside some time to complete the anonymous Implicit Association Test (IAT) administered by Project Implicit. Please complete an IAT for these topics: race, gender-career, disability and age. You'll need about 10 minutes for each topic. Your participation is voluntary, but strongly encouraged.

The information is for your use only in learning more about your unconscious biases. Absolutely no data will be reported to Rea and they do not collect your name or report your individual data
Virtually Attending Retreat? Print Off This Workbook For 'Live The Rea Way' Breakout Session
Eden Sulzer from Crosworks will be joining us at retreat to present during the breakout session "Live The Rea Way | Winning with Emotional Intelligence at Work & In LIfe" on day one. If you're attending retreat virtually AND you plan to participate in this session, please print off this workbook prior to retreat so you can complete it during the session.
Record Your Time
Whether you're attending in person or virtually, we recommend you record your time in STAR before retreat starts. There will be little time during retreat, so make sure you record your time before it kicks off. Use these time guidelines
Know Your Headshot Schedule
All employees who have registered to attend retreat in-person have been assigned a time to get a new headshot. Please find yourself in this UPDATED schedule and inform Emily Vetrano, administrative assistant, of any issues.  Plan your outfit to go with background one or two by following our attire guidelines.
Pack Appropriately: Retreat Dress Code
The dress code for in-person and virtual attendance will adhere to our "dress for your day" policy, meaning you can wear jeans both days. Remember, you can wear jeans and still look professional. Here are examples of dress for your day at Rea. Also, remember that the theme for our Young Advisory Board (YAB) is Western Carnival. While remaining professional, you're encouraged to wear your favorite western attire to the YAB event.
