The Holy Child Program
Hope Through Healing
Dear Friend,

January brought us a surprise visit from previous HCP graduates, continued Dina dinosaur problem solving classes, adventures in science class and the start of a new Incredible Years Parent course. We hope you enjoy the photos in our newsletter and take time to read about the things we are proud of and cherish.
God bless you,
Holy Child Program
Salem! It means PEACE

This is the name, the mothers of the new Incredible Years Parents' course, chose as their group name. It is HCP's 10th Incredible Years mothers' group. Daily life of the family is very challenging and to have a child at home who expresses behavioral differences makes family life even harder. For some mothers, this is the only time they have to take time to grow and develop themselves as they learn from one another. The tool box within this course provides skills in special time, positive attention techniques resulting in a strong foundational relational between parent and child. Years ago the Incredible Years Parenting book was translated into Arabic!! This was a major accomplishment and speaks to the dedication and success of the program.

"After I thought about how I raised my children I found that I made many mistakes, but my Mothers' Group taught me how to deal with my children. I learned how inportant 'special time' is."
-previous Mothers' Group attendee
Visits from previous students are full of benefits !
One young man is studying graphic design at a university. Our second graduate is in the process of finishing his high school diploma and is planning to study accounting.
HCP Fact:
approximately 95% of HCP graduates continue into higher education or in a vocational program or work in the community. All paths enriching their families, community.
They willingly help with much needed clean-up work and our to do list gets shorter :)
Teachers receive a sense of fulfillment and pride when hearing of their successes.
The students see themselves in the the visiting student thus the possibilities of their future.
The children absolutely love receiving visits from graduate students in their classroom.
Adventures in Science
Older students taking a deep dive into the anatomy of the heart, as younger students experimenting with what floats and what sinks in the water. The science materials you see here and other materials in the classroom were generously donated by a group of benefactors.
