HOT WEATHER GUIDELINES

As the warm temperatures approach, it's important to take the necessary precautions to ensure proper application of Kemper System's reinforced, cold liquid applied systems.

For best use, do not store product in direct sunlight or in temperatures above 80°F (27°C). Materials should be acclimated to temperatures between 65-70°F (18-21°C), 24 hours before application.

THE FOLLOWING RECOMMENDATIONS ARE INTENDED AS GUIDELINES ONLY

It is the contractor's responsibility to confirm the suitability of

temperature and conditions prior to the applications.

Substrate Preparation:

  • The substrate temperature should be 5° F above the dew point temperature.

  • The substrate should be free of moisture and all other contaminants.

  • Where possible, erect a sun-shield over the working area.

Please review the current Technical Data Sheets (TDS) for

specific products prior to the commencement of work.

Primer & Resin Applications:

  • Take precautions to ensure no moisture (rain, sweat, condensation, etc.) is introduced to the product.

  • Application should start during the dropping temperatures to avoid effects of vapor drive or a decrease in pot life.

  • Remove materials from storage as needed and apply them right away to extend pot life.

  • Adjust the amount of catalyst powder for AC (PMMA) products as directed by the temperature tables on the TDS’s.

  • Surfacing Options: When applicable, Confirm the re-coating and surfacing application guidelines on product TDS's.
