What you Need to Know: Conference App

Download the conference app before you arrive and start networking and planning your conference experience. Reach out to individual attendees, add comments on the community board, and check the logistics page for helpful resources pertaining to the conference. Please send any app questions to VCIA Director of Communications Francis McGill at [email protected] and he and staff will get back to you. You can also message the organizers on the app and we can assist you there as well.

Important: You Will Scan into Each Session to Earn Professional Credit!

In order to receive your credit you must also complete a session evaluation at the end of each session. Session evaluations are located in each session on the agenda.


After the conference you will receive an email link from VCIA allowing you to download your continuing education credits. They will be sent no later than the end of September 2023.

What you Need to Know: Registration Desk Hours in the DoubleTree Conference Center Lobby

What you Need to Know: Transportation & Shuttle Service


Please Note: When arriving at the Burlington Airport, it's not guaranteed that there will be taxis or Ubers immediately on site, so we strongly encourage setting up airport transportation in advance if arriving late at night. 


Hotel airport shuttles are offered 24/7 for the Doubletree and Homewood Suites. Please contact the hotel front desk directly when you have luggage at the Doubletree and a day in advance to secure timing at Homewood Suites. 


Please note: The Essex Spa and Resort is NOT included in the On Demand Shuttle Service. A different, limited schedule for the Essex can be found on the conference app under logistics.

What You Need to Know: Networking Lunches & Tavern Hours


Buffet-style networking lunch with seating in ballrooms. On Tuesday get lunch at the Atrium Restaurant or Emerald Promenade from 12:00–1:00 pm; and Diamond Ballroom (captive owners only) from 11:45 am–12:45 pm. 


On Wednesday in the Atrium Restaurant 12:00-1:00 pm; Emerald Promenade 12:15-1:00 pm and Exhibit Hall from 11:30 am–12:30 pm. 


Your badge is your lunch ticket!


Tavern (across from Atrium)


Tavern Hours: 11:30am to 10:30 pm. Food service ends at 10pm and last call will be 10:15pm. Please be patient with hotel pub staff. 

What you Need to Know: Golf

Directions to Stowe Country Club from Burlington, VT (about a 40 minute drive)

Get on I-89 S from Main St/Williston Rd. Take Exit 10 and turn left onto VT-100 N. Turn left onto Mountain Rd. Turn right onto Weeks Hill Rd. Turn left on to Cape Cod Rd. Stowe Country Club will be on the right. 


Beverage cart is "cash only"


Mulligan money will be donated to the Vermont Community Foundation supporting the flood relief efforts. VCIA will match the dollar amount.


Need a ride to the golf course, or anywhere else during conference? Check the "Airport Ride Sharing" & "Ride Sharing" topics located at the end of the community board, and request or offer a ride.

Please note, regarding cell phone reception, some people may experience a dead cell zone (AT&T only) in the exhibit hall and some guest rooms. For better reception, go to the conference center lobby or main hotel lobby.

What You Need to Know: Places for Semi-Private or Brief Meetings 


- Hotel lobby seating by fireplace and front entrance. 

- The Tavern and surrounding areas (courtyard, front area). The Tavern is open to the public and serving food 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Please be patient as pub staff is limited

- The Atrium and surrounding areas (hallway, waterwall).  The Atrium Restaurant is open to public and serving breakfast 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. 

- There are plenty of chairs, couches, and benches throughout the conference center. There are also couches, chairs and tables/chairs outside of the atrium that can be used for informal meetings.  

What You Need to Know: First-time Attendees


Join the Newcomers Orientation & VCIA Update on Tuesday, August 8th at 8:00 am in Emerald III. You'll receive advice on how to get the most out of #VCIA2023 from the Conference Chair, meet fellow first time attendees, and get to chat with VCIA President Kevin Mead, as well as VCIA Board members and conference ambassadors.


Plus, complimentary travel-sized maple syrup bottles made by VCIA's own staff member Joce Lamb and her family!

What You Need to Know: Captive Owners Tour to Lake Champlain Chocolates


Captive owners who have preregistered for the tour and submitted a safety agreement in advance, please gather in the DoubleTree Conference Center Lobby for a 9am departure on Tuesday, August 8th. Look for the State of Vermont’s Brittany Nevins who is the tour coordinator.
