In Harrisburg, the General Assembly and Wolf administration are hard at work developing the budget for the 2022-2023 fiscal year. United Way is advocating for a budget that supports the financial stability, health, and education of all Pennsylvanians. Which is especially critical now, when so many families are struggling due to rising inflation.
As budget negotiations continue throughout the month of June, United Way of Pennsylvania is calling on our communities and supporters to ask the General Assembly to STAND UNITED and support our policy priorities!
United Way of Pennsylvania is advocating for:
-
Investment allowing PA 211 to connect Pennsylvanians in need to community resources:
- A one-time investment of $4.2 million to modernize PA 211's infrastructure, and
- Our continued ask of $1.5 million in annual investment from the Commonwealth.
-
The enactment of a State Earned Income Tax Credit to help put money back into the hands of hardworking Pennsylvanians.
-
Increased investment in early childhood health, education, and child care as outlined here.
