What a year it's been
It's been an eventful year, to say the least.

But no matter what is happening in the world around us, Disability Rights Texas (DRTx) remains focused on our unswerving commitment to protect and advocate for the rights of the thousands of children, women and men with disabilities in our state every year.

People like Benjamin. Benjamin is a nine-year-old boy with cerebral palsy who outgrew his power chair and was using a manual chair. His  family requested a standing wheelchair from Medicaid but was denied. Until they called DRTx for help.

One of our hero attorneys represented Benjamin and sent information to Texas Medicaid prior to a fair hearing. They reversed the initial denial and approved the standing wheelchair.

A standing wheelchair has changed Benjamin's life. In fact, his family wants everyone to see all the things Benjamin can now do in a short video that they created to express their gratitude to DRTx.

This year DRTx helped nearly 8,000 people like Benjamin on a variety of disability rights issues through direct representation or short-term legal assistance.  Unfortunately, in the year to come, our level federal funding and increased costs of doing business will likely force us to significantly reduce the number of people we can serve.

Your donation of any amount will ensure that we can continue to serve the growing number of people with disabilities in need of our services. Please consider giving $25, $50, $100 or more to make sure we continue to help more kids like Benjamin. And adults like you.
