Choosing a Lifestyle over a Job -
Feature Video by Shaw Spotlight.
Life has a way of surprising us when we least expect it, and for my family, that moment came in 2003. My father, Glen, at the age of 62, was on the brink of a fulfilling working retirement, ready to embrace his passion for hosting guests at Andrew Lake Lodge while flying his beloved plane. Tragically, just as the season began, he suffered a massive heart attack and passed away at the lodge, a place that was so dear to him. While his sudden departure was an immense shock to all of us, it also served as a profound reminder of the importance of community and resilience. With the unwavering support from family, friends, and our cherished guests, we navigated through that challenging season together. Faced with the decision of whether to continue Glen's legacy or explore a new path, I chose to embrace the adventure for a year or two and see where it led. Now, two decades later, the journey continues, filled with the spirit of Glen's passion for adventure and the Northern Wilderness, inviting all who come to create their own lasting memories.

Making Calls
For our moose rut hunts, we were thrilled to have hunters returning for the 3rd, 5th and 15th hunt with us as well as others for their very first trip.
Calling was successful with bulls answering early, Arch, Bayonet and Tulip all took bulls from campsites. Goes to show you can't call too much. Bocquene, South Leland and Marshall also connected on bulls.
Conditions were warm early and cooled down by month end and our shallow Fort Smith floatplane base lake froze over and we had to use a boat to break it up. Always excitement!
Many groups have rebooked and we have select dates available for the outfitted equipment and drop camp option trips in 2025 & 2026.

The Job List
We are continually improving our facilities and amenities. This year, we saw the addition of new outboard motors and boats to help navigate our lakes. For even more fun on the water, guests cruised around on stand up paddlebaoards
We expanded solar and battery systems at our Andrew, Leland, and Lynx locations, providing 24 hour electricity which is convenient for our Starlink satellite communications and reducing fuel and the flights to fly it in.
Additionally, we’ve enhanced some of our cabins with new kitchens, expanding our light housekeeping packages for even greater convenience. We are also excited to introduce a special project code-named "Hillside," which is being expertly engineered by Jim. Stay tuned for more enhancements!

Fishing 2025!
The year brought exhilarating fishing results from all of our pristine lakes. At our South Leland Lake outpost camp, guests enjoyed the unique experience of being dropped off with an exclusive camp and a lake all to themselves! Guests enjoyed catching all three species - with Walleye, Pike, and Lake Trout providing the action.
At Andrew Lake Lodge, we offer both full-service trips complete with delectable meals and do-it-yourself cooking packages in cozy private cabins, catering to every fishing enthusiast's desires. September was particularly thrilling, as the spawning season ignited intense action with Lake Trout moving into the shallows, and guests reeling in impressive Pike that were hooked, landed, and released!
Meanwhile, Lynx Tundra Lodge welcomed new guests that were delighted in catching Lynx Lakers and Arctic Grayling along the scenic tree line and eskers. As we look forward to next season, mark your calendars—first casts will be on May 23!
