Dive into the heart of the linguistic journey: proficiency and fluency. How do these pillars shape language revitalization in Indigenous communities? Through four articles, we spotlight the transition from learning to mastery.

  • Proficiency, The CEFR, and Their Importance: Unveil the CEFR's role in Indigenous language revitalization.
  • Functional Language Learning in the Digital Age: Experience language beyond grammar, championed by platforms like Languages 4.
  • Aiming Higher with Indigenous Languages: Join Mia's journey in the Navajo community from proficiency to fluency.
  • Lil' Linguinauts Launchpad: Introducing young linguists to the joy of language through the lens of biking.

This edition celebrates the essence of language: connecting with cultural roots and ensuring Indigenous languages flourish. Dive in, feel the passion, and be part of the linguistic renaissance.

And finally, we have added our special edition as well, to encourage you to sign up for the special Education Committee of the White House Council on Native American Affairs (WHCNAA) series of webinars beginning next week. Make your voices heard regarding the next 10 years of language revitalization efforts.

Warm regards,

Founder's Corner | A Message From Tim O'Hagan

Dear Readers,

Once again, I find myself eagerly looking forward to this edition, especially as we embark on round 2 of Lil' Linguinauts and delve deeper into the importance of proficiency. Recognizing proficiency, understanding it, and using it as a growth marker is, in my eyes, foundational to our collective success.

It's with immense pleasure that I spotlight the continuation of our Lil’ Linguinauts Launchpad. This segment, which we introduced with much excitement in the previous edition, seeks to nurture our budding linguists, creating a bridge between the past, present, and future linguistic champions!

Languages 4™ was birthed from a belief: varied pathways enhance learning. There's no one-size-fits-all. With the addition and growth of Lil’ Linguinauts, we aim to enrich the experience for our younger enthusiasts, providing them with content crafted especially for their vibrant minds. This is just a glimpse of the inclusivity we envision.

Your unwavering support fuels us. Together, we're crafting a world where language thrives, stories are shared, and cultures are celebrated.

And please don't miss the opportunity to impact the 10-year plan for Deb Haaland and the team. They begin next week!

Miigwech (Thank you in Ojibwe),
