Now that September is upon us, the Jewish Federation of Ottawa embarks on its Annual Campaign to raise the funds needed to support our community and to ensure everyone has access to meaningful Jewish experiences.

Hillel Ottawa welcomes new leadership with lots of ideas for a busy school year



“Your Jewish home away from home.” 


That is the motto of Hillel Ottawa, an organization that is part of an international network of Hillels that supports Jewish students on college and university campuses around the world. In Ottawa, Hillel primarily works with students at the University of Ottawa, Carleton University, and Algonquin College. Hillel Ottawa is thrilled to introduce Jamie Sweigman and Oren Baray.

CHES launches program to support descendants of Holocaust survivors 


The goal of Through Their Eyes, which has received a Jewish Federation of Ottawa’s Jewish Journeys grant, is to support the descendants of survivors through the process of researching, writing, and preparing their narrative, explains Phil Emberley and Marion Silver.
