The year is certainly flying by! Here we are, mid-October already with the Fall Festival of Shakespeare right around the corner and A Christmas Carol close behind!

On Wednesday, we had our second Fall Festival of Shakespeare Common Class where all the students from the seven participating schools come together to learn, interact and share their experiences. If you haven’t gotten your tickets for the Festival yet, check out the schedule and pick the performance blocks you want to attend. If you want to experience the energy and amazement of the entire festival, you can do so with our Festival Pass for $50.  

This weekend, so many of the us at the Playhouse are getting out and seeing some of the great theatre happening on Portland’s stages and saying hello to some familiar faces along the way.

Shows on the collective schedule for staff members include Trails at Broadway Rose (staring Audience Services Manager/former apprentice Quinlan Fitzgerald and former apprentice Rachel Lewis), Caught (where we will catch up with former apprentice Tamera Lynn who is a contributing artist on the show) and Sibling Rivalry directed by Front of House Manager and former apprentice La’Tevin Alexander for his company Confrontation Theatre. 

Those of us with kids (and those who are kids at heart) are going to check out Oregon Children's Theatre Judy Moody & Stink and maybe wrestle a few pumpkins out of the mud in classic PNW style.

You might just catch Brian and Nikki Weaver at Reed College experiencing Rejoice! Diaspora Dance Theatre's UPRISE (below) an evening of choreographic premiers by Oluyinka Akinjiola, Michael Galen and Jamie Minkus, with musical guest Amenta Abioto. 

And a few of us are staying close to our work home with the apprentice company starting music rehearsals for A Christmas Carol and our Development Associate, Katie, hosting a retreat for the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network Portland.
