Like many, BIAV felt a sense of helplessness when the impact of COVID-19 sunk in. Not only did we need to take action to keep the organization thriving, but we also needed to find new ways to take care of the people we serve. After collaborating with the Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services (DARS), we were able to set up a small, temporary gift card program to help those in dire financial situations. Although the program was only temporary, we are grateful to have had the opportunity to help others, even in a small way.
