We are committed to helping you incorporate or expand the use of STEM-based learning in your program. That's why we are once again partnering with Cox Communications to award a total of $15,000 in STEM grants ranging from $500 to $1,500. Applications will be reviewed by an independent judging panel with extra points given to programs that have signed the Make It Count Pledge and who have submitted an Assessment using the AzQSAT. Additional consideration will be given to programs that promote equity.

Gearing up to run a summer program for kids and want to include STEM learning? Science Olympiad has you covered on April 14th from 4-5 pm Central Time. In this virtual workshop, you'll earn about the value of problem-based STEM learning, easy hands-on activities to do with any age group, and resources and kits available for in-person or virtual learning. Science Olympiad's VP of STEM Dr. John Loehr and Director of Elementary Programs Shari Haug will walk you through options for summer STEM for grades K-12. This workshop is perfect for any summer program provider, regardless of your experience with Science Olympiad activities and events.

As vaccine-laden trucks roll across the United States, it is impossible to miss the vital role that scientific research has played in the global response to the COVID-19 pandemic. We can thank scientists, technicians and researchers for the tiny vials of vaccine headed toward our biceps to save hundreds of thousands, even millions of lives. This scientific breakthrough -- like so many others -- may well have begun in an after-school classroom.
