As an American, and the daughter of a Vet, I'm always moved on Memorial Day. It's good to stop, at least once a year, and thank those who give so much. In the immortal words of Billy Ray Cyrus, “all gave some, some gave all.” In my opinion, each deserves endless admiration and gratitude.
That sense of endless admiration and gratitude also springs forward for Bounce Moms (and Dads). I’ve seen them give up jobs, abandon careers, forgo self-care, short-change free time and neglect friends, all in pursuit of the survival, and improved health, of their Bounce Kiddos. I admire their ability to adapt to relentless stress and reduced resources, and listen to their struggles with perpetual uncertainty and endless guilt.
Yet, like most Vets, they don’t complain. They simply set about doing what needs to be done, quietly doing what would scare most of us half to death, and the render the rest of us immobile.
So this May, I salute ALL who have served both our great country and our amazing families!
