Lag B'Omer 101 - FREE

TONIGHT!

Thursday, 4/29

7:00 PM - 7:30 PM PT

Educator: Rabbi Ruth Adar

What do bonfires, haircuts, and weddings have in common? Lag B'Omer!

Join us as we learn about Lag B'Omer, a holiday that happens on the 33rd day of the Omer, the time we count between Passover and Shavuot. You'll get a chance to learn about some Lag B'Omer traditions and ask questions about this minor Jewish holiday.

This program is one session out of many we have planned for a whole year of Jewish Holidays and Traditions 101 – Your Guide to the Jewish Calendar.

The Radical Jewish Union (RJU) Sit-In 50 Years Later - A Virtual Symposium

On Friday afternoon, April 30, 1971, approximately 40 members of the Berkeley-based student group, the Radical Jewish Union (RJU), occupied the Federation offices in San Francisco. They presented their demands for dramatic increases in support for Jewish education

Many of the RJU members went on to become significant figures in Jewish education, formal and informal, from early childhood to university and adult education.

Join us for a virtual symposium discussing Jewish education 50 years later with RJU members & Jewish community professionals and educators.
