4th Annual Undergraduate Genetics Education Network Virtual Workshop

Jan. 4, 2024 | 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Join the Undergraduate Genetics Education Network (UGEN) for the 4th Annual Virtual Workshop. This interactive, participatory workshop will explore the themes of eugenics and the social contexts of genetics research, past and present. Presenters will facilitate breakout sessions on co-creating learning environments with students, especially when confronting hard histories.

Students and Educators Get Ready for DNA Day 2024!

The 2024 American Society of Human Genetics DNA Day essay contest is now open to students in grades 9-12! First place prize is $1000 for the student essay writer and a $1000 genetics materials grant.

To enter, students examine, question and reflect on how the interplay of genetics and environment can shape human health.

Submissions will be due in early March 2024

NEW Youth Art Challenge: How Prevention Can Create Better Health for Everyone

The National Institutes of Health Office of Disease Prevention (ODP) wants you to share your ideas— through art—about how prevention can help improve people's health, no matter who they are or where they live.

Your original artwork may be featured on ODP's website and social media, and winning entries will be awarded $500–$3,500! Up to five prizes will be awarded for each category: Teens (13–17 years old) and Young Adults (18–22 years old).

Submit your original art by January 31, 2024.
