Sunday June 5th, we will be celebrating Communion. All are welcome at the table!
Prayer of Confession

God of majesty and power, we tremble when we become aware of who you are. Who are we that you should visit us or expect something from us? We confess our preference for the predictable. We admit your resistance to your Spirit. We acknowledge our misuse of your gifts to us. We prefer our divisions to your unity. Forgive us, O God of power and might, that we might forgive. Draw us back into a right relationship with you, and with one another. Amen
Call to Worship:
L: We are the Easter people!
P: We have witnessed the Resurrection of our Lord.
L: We are now called to be people of the Pentecost.
P: We are called to boldly share the good news of God’s love.
L: Open your hearts, O people, to God’s great power and love.
P: We open our hearts to hear God’s word for us and to joyfully proclaim Jesus Christ as our Savior. AMEN.

Genesis 11:1-9
Now the whole world had one language and a common speech. As people moved eastward, they found a plain in Shinar and settled there.
They said to each other, “Come, let’s make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” They used brick instead of stone, and tar for mortar. Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves; otherwise we will be scattered over the face of the whole earth.”
But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower the people were building. The Lord said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other.”
So the Lord scattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city. That is why it was called Babel—because there the Lord confused the language of the whole world. From there the Lord scattered them over the face of the whole earth.
Covid Updates

We have not spoken much about Covid lately. Sadly, it has been circulating among people in our church community and families. We should still take reasonable precautions and exercise common sense to keep each other safe. If you feel sick, stay home! Please get tested if your symptoms warrant. If you are not sure of your Covid status, better safe than sorry, masks are still helpful in many situations.

The free test offer is very convenient and quick! I ordered mine and received them in less than a week!

Upcoming UMW program event for the whole church to enjoy

Our UMW is planning a special program on Sunday June 26th during our 9am worship service. We will welcome a professional “storyteller” who will portray Susannah Wesley. Her story will highlight how her faith influenced her sons, John and Charles Wesley. We will celebrate together with cake after the service in the Fellowship Hall in honor of John Wesley's birthday. UMW members and friends please watch for more details as we get closer to the end of June for ways to help.

*Special Invitation from the women’s group at the Pine River UMC:

“Please join us on Tuesday, June 7th, for a luncheon beginning at noon. We will eat at 11:30 in the Fellowship Hall, located in the lower level of church. Following the luncheon there will be an informative program.”
If you did not RSVP, but would like to attend, please speak to Pastor Jen.
Good news!
The issues with our live stream have been resolved. You can watch our Sunday worship service in real time by going to our website. You can still watch it any time after this by viewing the recorded service through the website as well, or with the link provided on our Facebook page on Sunday mornings.
If you have something that should be added to this newsletter from your group or mission, please speak with Pastor Jen or email the details to her at pastorjen@tds.net.
The E-Grace is generally completed by noon on Thursdays, so articles need to be given to me by Thursday morning at the very latest.

If you wish to connect with me directly and it is not an emergency, please know that I will respond as needed during pretty regular office hours. I am in the church most weekdays from at least 10-1. Ann has my detailed schedule and can find me if needed.
