Thank You! Thank You!

Our 133rd Anniversary Celebration was filled with joy and gratefulness. We thank each of you for making it a huge success. We welcomed new faces and old faces. We pray for God's blessings and many more years to celebrate.

A special thanks to Brenda Shepherd and the choir for lending their musical talents to enhance our worship experience.

Come and be dazzled by the incomparable Vanessa Rubin

Let us support our very own Jazz artist, Vanessa Rubin. See the information below for tickets.

Thanks to all for turning in your pledge slips to be blessed this past Sunday. If you haven't turned in your pledge information we are still accepting them. Be prayerful when considering your offering to God.

Here are some ways to prepare for Advent 2024:

  • Set aside time for prayer: Set aside time each day for prayer and reflection, such as in the morning, at dinner, or at night.

  • Practice devotions: Participate in devotions designed for Advent, such as reading reflections around an Advent wreath.

  • Meditate on scripture: Meditate on scripture about Advent.

  • Examine your heart: Seek forgiveness and examine your heart.

The Vestry will meet Tuesday, December 16 at 7:00PM via ZOOM

Vestry Meeting Summary November, 2024

The Vestry met on Tuesday, November 19 th via ZOOM. Much of the focus of the

meeting was time spent with our coach, Nigel Adams, to discuss progress on the

goals/objectives/activities. We are doing exceptionally well. We noted that each

of the three committees is meeting independently and focused on their top three

activities. In addition, the Vestry voted to accept the Audit report. We discussed

the Financial Report and the current deficit, lighting repairs for the front of the

building and signage (Please note the lights around the red doors were

replaced—thank you Darcel; and the signage has been updated on the Cedar Road

side.). There was discussion about the Annual Meeting which is tentatively

scheduled for January 26th. The Dinner Dance Report was given and the event was

quite successful. The Stewardship Committee continues to appeal to the

congregation to provide time, talents and financial support so that we can plan the

2025 budget. December 8 th we’ll celebrate St. Andrew’s 133 rd anniversary and are

encouraging parishioners to bring family and friends. We began a discussion of

Guild and Committee policies and procedures; Rev. Sharon will discuss the

accepted Episcopal policies and procedures with diocesan staff and communicate

back to guild/committee heads. Rev. Sharon is working with another individual to

update our website and to develop and End of Life Planning Workshop. Bible

Study will restart on December 1 st .

Our next Vestry meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 17 th via ZOOM at

7pm. The link will be available from Lois Jackson.

The Vestry wishes all a Blessed Advent Season.

PASTORAL TEAM

A Pastoral Team has been put in place, consisting of Will Seifert-Kessel, Brenda Shepherd, Jon Benjamin and Anita Pruitt. You may contact any member of the team for pastoral support.

The need for volunteers is ongoing as we no longer employ a sexton. Your service in cleaning is always appreciated especially in the kitchen and bathroom areas. Many thanks to all who consistently help out in all areas.
