The Arc Keeps Busy While Waiting to Reopen

Despite its physical building remaining closed, The Arc continues to stay busy helping others in the community. Specifically, we are:

Yes, we are staying busy, but nothing compares to actually having friends and employees in the building.

We continue to await word from the Governor and the Office of Developmental Disabilities Services on when we can safely reopen. Please know we are thinking of you, and we hope you continue to stay safe and healthy!

Showcase Talent in
Play Your Part Talent Show

The Arc Lane County and Families Connected are hosting a  Play Your Part Virtual Talent Show to help keep children and youth engaged this summer

The winner of the talent show will be announced at the Play Your Part Live Auction on August 21, and the winner will receive a $100 gift card.

Summer Work Program Launches Virtually

The Arc Lane County's Summer Work Program is underway! While we cannot go into local businesses to provide teens and young adults with hands-on experience, we are providing students the tools to work next summer. Class participants are working on resumes, financial literacy, digital citizenship and a job club. In addition, all students will have opportunities to get their food handlers card, prepare for their driver's permit and create a personalized video highlighting their strengths, passions and dreams.
Next Stop: Egypt

Thanks to a grant from the Oregon Community Foundation and wonderful volunteers from First Baptist Church, The Arc has delivered the first round of Staycation Around the World Activity Kits .

Last week's kit included fun activities, food and crafts related to Ireland. The next destination is exotic Egypt. The Arc still has a couple of kits available. To receive a kit, contact Nancy .
The Arc to Provide Wraparound Services

The Arc Lane County has received a grant through the Oregon Health Authority to provide wraparound services to families through Families Connected.

Edith Osorio will join the Families Connected team to help provide outreach to Latino families and other people of color. The wraparound services will help ensure families have access to resources, connection and parent education during the pandemic.
