Dear Friend,

Summer break can be fun and relaxing for many kids—but for children in the foster care system, it can also mean added instability. Without the structure of the school day, familiar teachers, or regular meals, summer often brings disruption and uncertainty.

CASA’s work is especially important this time of year. Our Advocates provide a steady, caring presence when other routines fall away. Whether it’s checking in with a child, attending court hearings, or ensuring summer needs are met, CASA volunteers help bring stability during a season when it’s needed most.

Consistency matters—and CASA helps make it possible. But right now, there are 27 children waiting for CASA volunteer. Please share this volunteer opportunity with the caring people you know to help us get more volunteers to the children who need one.

Thanks to all who golfed for CASA on 6/23!

CASA Lake County’s 2025 Golf Outing was a big success, raising nearly $128,000 to support our continued advocacy for children in foster care. These funds will help provide dedicated CASA Advocates to 51 more children in Lake County this year. Special thanks to former White Sox players Mike Huff and Dan Pasqua for joining as our honored guests!

Save the Date – and Register Today!

You’ve saved the date — now it’s time to save your seat! CASA’s Annual Gala is happening on Thursday, September 12 at Ravinia, and registration for sponsorships and individual tickets is officially open. Don’t miss our biggest night of the year in support of children in foster care.

Kudos for Some Amazing CASA Volunteers!

To CASA Colleen as her case closed in reunification with the biological mother. Throughout her time on the case, Colleen forged a nice relationship with the biological mother and the child. Her visits were engaging and geared to the child’s interests, and both the child and Colleen enjoyed them. Colleen plans to accept another case within the next couple of months to continue advocating for our CASA children.

To CASA Christy for sending her eight-year-old CASA boy postcards when she is on vacation. He loves getting mail and when she visits, he reads her postcards. This little act is such a great way to show him how much she cares as everyone loves getting mail! Christy's creativity in her CASA role is inspiring!

To CASA Charlie for agreeing to take on another case. He was so moved by the cut in funding to National CASA that he felt motivated to make sure more children had a CASA. This is his third CASA case. We need more volunteers like Charlie who are willing to step up. Thank you Charlie!
