"Serving One Another in Love"
Galatians 5:13

Hello family and friends,

Sveta and I continue to communicate with the people that MUCH sponsors in different communities in Ukraine. We are receiving new updates, keeping us abreast of the needs of these people. Those that we sponsor, serving so many other Ukrainians in need, thank you with a very big heart. For many people, your MUCH gifts are huge because they help many individuals survive day to day in this difficult time for Ukraine. The war continues to kill and cause relocation of families and individuals.
Ira K was my translator and assistant for eight years. She and her daughter are now in Germany. Ira find purpose translating for other Ukrainians in the church that they attend.
Her husband, Platon, (pastor) and their son, Daniel, (green shirt) remain. They share the spoken and unspoken Gospel with those in their community. Here is their story:

People who had been poor before the war have become much poorer after the war burst onto the scene in Ukraine. The fuel problem has deprived many people any opportunity to reach bigger cities to make their living. Because of the fuel situation, the cost of bus tickets are so high that people can't afford to go anywhere. Some villages can be spread out over a mile. Very few jobs are available.

When people left their homes in the warring sections of Ukraine. There was no guarantee that they would fine safety in another part of Ukraine, much less be successful in rebuilding their lives. Many of them relocated in Ovidiopol.

Platon's church is playing a very important role in the future of Ukraine. Many people go to church because they can receive food and humanitarian aid. Some are looking for hope. Others are looking for compassion. All are looking for answers.
People who have lost everything, including family members, come to church with anger toward God and the churches that represent Him. They are angry because they think that God controls everything; therefore He is responsible for all of the results of war. This, of course, is not true.

Love and compassion are not enough to redirect this anger. Food and Bibles are not enough to satisfy their souls. The messages being preached, the Gospel of reconciliation through the cross of Christ, and the opportunity to have a personal relationship with this God is causing the churches to be filled to standing room only. When men and women realize that this war is not God’s creation, but rather man’s creation, influenced by the evil that exists in this world, then they will understand that they have no reason to be angry toward God. The truth will soften their hardened hearts and bring healing to their lives.
I know four of the seven men in this picture. They are in front of the Church that Platon (second from left) pastors. The three in the middle attend Platon’s church. The other three come from the mother church in another city.

Together they reach out to the surrounding communities with physical food, and also spiritual food. These men stand tall in their communities, reaching out to those in great need while this war continues, not far from their own homes. They live what they believe. They freely share what they believe.

Thank you so much for your part in the war effort through MUCH.
Thank all of you who share our stories with your friends, pray for our children, and sponsor the financial needs of MUCH!
Blessings of love and healing,

Mark and Sveta
