The New Grainfather G30³

How do the Grainfather G30³ design changes impact brewing gluten free beer? The new Grainfather G30³ design includes side wall perforation on the bottom of the malt tube. While this may increase wort circulation in conventional brewing, it allows gluten free malt to pass through the malt tube. Therefore, at this time, we recommend lining the malt tube with the mesh grain bag included by GFHB.

What's a India Pale Lager IPL?

Finishing clean and crisp, an IPL flavor comes from the hops rather than the yeast. The finished beer is somewhat hoppy with pale, amber or even dark brown color. An IPL will typically be half as bitter as it's IPA cousin. There are typically two categories that an IPL will fall into, either imperial or session. While the term imperial has changes it's meaning multiple times over the last couple hundred years, today it mostly refers to a bolder beer higher in alcohol. Whereas a session contains no more than 5% ABV.
