Dear friends,
You probably saw the signs around that church the last few weeks that say, "It's Coming: Nov. 12," so you are by now surely aware that this Sunday, November 12, is Commitment Sunday for St. Paul's. Our theme for reflection this year is "Faith Giving."
We chose "Faith Giving" because we believe giving is a spiritual practice, and an act of faith. Additionally, what many people notice when they become givers is that the act of giving helps to grow their faith.
Giving is not something we ask of you so you can help the church. Rather, we ask you to pray on the question, "What is God calling me to give?" because giving is a spiritual practice for you.
The fruit of all our spiritual practices is our growth as well as the growth and development of our community.
We believe that you have sufficient concern for your spiritual growth and the mission and ministries of St. Paul's to attend the two special events of this day—Sunday morning worship at 10:15 AM and the Celebration Luncheon immediately following worship. This is a catered meal, so we need reservations for each person.
Our goal is to have every member and regular worship attendee present. If you did not make a reservation during the last two weeks, please let us know that you will be present by calling Lori Lavelle at (504) 488-3749, ext. 102 between the hours of 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM today, or email her.
Your spiritual growth, as well as the effectiveness of our church’s mission and ministries in 2024, depends on your initiative and dedication. Please make whatever sacrifices are necessary to be present on Sunday for this important day.
