Starting today, Monday, November 12th, join ASI as we kick off the third annual HARA week and share ASI’s current efforts to improve human-animal relationships. Each day this week we'll feature a new topic. Check the 2018 HARA Week page daily for each day's new link.

ASI and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is pleased to announce the dates for the 2019 Summer Institute for Human-Animal Studies! The 2019 Summer Institute will start Sunday, July 14 2019 and go until Sunday, July 21, 2019. We expect the call for applications to go out around the 15th of November. The call for applications will be posted on our website and also in our monthly Human-Animal Studies Newsletter, to which you may subscribe by clicking here . VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT
Brittany Roden
Brittany Roden is a senior at Eastern Michigan University and graduates this December with a bachelor’s degree. Before Brittany attended EMU she received two associate degrees. One from Kalamazoo Valley Community College in art and new media and one from Washtenaw Community College in mathematics and natural science. Brittany is originally from Gobles Michigan and since she moved to Ypsilanti she has become involved with the community. She volunteers as a cat comforter at the Humane Society of Huron Valley and recently started working at Big Birthers Big Sisters in Ypsilanti. Brittany’s compassion for animals and the environment lead her to intern for ASI. She is interested in starting a career with a nonprofit organization that helps animals and the environment. Brittany is an artist in her spare time and loves drawing, painting, yoga, reading, walking outside, and spending time with her cat Felix.
