Dressed for the Holidays
You can enjoy carriage rides starting at noon. "Father Christmas" arrives in Weston to officially start the holiday season. He reappears every weekend until Christmas Eve. He leads the children's holiday parade on Main Street which begins at 5:30, and the Christmas Tree Lighting. Youth and adult carolers will add to the evening's festive spirit and refreshments and souvenirs will be available for the children.
Santa's elves will collect new toys for Platte County family's at the tree lighting or you can drop items off at the Chamber Office throughout November.

Galena, Missouri artist, Darlene Kreighbaum, will be showing her paintings in our 720 Thomas Street store on Saturday, Nov. 12th, during Weston's Holiday Open House. Darlene has been drawing since she was a child and has been been painting ever since her sister gave her a painting lesson for a birthday gift. Darlene is a member of the "Best of Missouri Hands" organization and has been showing at Silver Dollar City for the last seven years. She paints on pieces of granite and other materials, adding in small details to bring a spark of realism into her pictures. We hope you'll stop in to meet Darlene while you're in town for the Open House!

Is Weston Missouri haunted? According to Verna Kowertz, owner of The Upstairs TeaRoom in downtown Weston, very much so. The tearoom has been documented as the most haunted tearoom in the State of Missouri by VisitMO.com, the official Missouri Tourism website, in 2011. Now Verna has published a book titled "Ghost Tales of Weston" introducing over 30 different ghost stories from Weston's past and present.
"This has been a fun book to write documenting local storytellers, city officials, and adding to the stories of haunting legends in or around Weston that have been told over the past. I am now the keeper of ghost tales in Weston which include stories like "Einstein's Brain", "Screaming Voices", "Pets With Spirits", "The Ghost On Library Drive", and the newest addition "The Body Found In The Well," Verna states.
