We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health and good spirits despite the unusual
circumstances. As you are aware, the State of Wisconsin has been operating under the “Safer at
Home Order”, which closed Wisconsin schools for the
remainder of the 2019-20 school year. Please review ALL of the important information attached.

Families with children who will be 4 years old by Sept 1st:
We have two 4K Programs: full-day and Half-day. All are welcome, however, due to limited space, the full-day program uses a lottery to select the students who will be offered the 4K full-day program. The deadline to participate in the lottery is May 13 @ 3 p.m. Enroll today! Please note the lottery does not affect the half-day 4K. Enrollment is ongoing.
Boundary Variances
Marinette School District assign all students to their home schools based on the established elementary school boundaries to ensure student enrollment balance within the elementary schools.
By July 30, a parent can apply for a district exception online, which is reviewed by the District Administrators for approval. If the family receives approval, it is the district’s expectation that the student will be parent transported to/from school in a timely manner or the district exception will be reversed. Families will be notified by the first Friday in August.
Should a family move during an existing school year to another home outside of the existing school’s attendance area, it may be in the best interest of the student to finish the current school year at the original school and that will be granted.
Potential Reasons for Approval:
1) Medical conditions of student.
2) Extenuating family situation.
3) Family moved from current home in district to a new home causing a change in elementary boundary area.
Marinette School District reserves the right to request further documentation if needed to make a final decision. All decisions are made by the District Administrator and are final. Once a variance is accepted, you do not need to fill one out every year.
