Hello YMCA of the Foothills Family! I trust this note finds you healthy and happy in this new year.
I don’t know about you, but I feel most connected to my faith and wellness while I am out in nature. Whether that is a short hike along the local foothill trails, somewhere in the mountains backpacking, or logging some miles on my bike, or walking the neighborhood with my family, it just lifts my spirits and brings clarity to my thoughts. While on a recent local hike, I took this picture of these palm trees backlit by a setting sun in the western sky. It reminded me that at the end of each day comes an opportunity to reflect and recenter. Physical wellness and spiritual health, no matter your belief structure, seem to go hand in hand... just like palm trees and southern California sunsets!
I write to you today with a hopeful heart that our community and nation are slowly starting to reflect and recenter after almost a year of social change and hardships brought on by the pandemic. Over our history, the Y has been steadfast in its resolve to provide hope by serving the needs of its community. The YMCA of the Foothills has demonstrated the capacity and desire to help our community come together during the COVID-19 pandemic. Over my 23-year career, I have witnessed firsthand the restorative nature of our work in supporting youth, families, and seniors through their toughest times and challenges.
The Y is committed to doing whatever it takes, for as long as it takes, to help our community recover and thrive once again—we know we can’t do it alone. Thank you for your unwavering support as members and donors to help us continue providing access to life-changing programs and services to every corner of our service area.
As the calendar flips to February, you can count on the Y to continue supporting our community wherever, whenever, and however we can. Below you will find all the ways the YMCA of the Foothills is meeting the needs of our members and community. Once again, this is all so you can access Your Y Your Way!
