How to Help Refugees from Afghanistan
“I would like to ask you all to see a ray of hope as well as in the eyes and hearts of refugees and of those who have been forcibly displaced. A hope that is expressed in expectations for the future, in the desire for friendship, in the wish to participate in the host society also through learning the language, access to employment, and the education of children.” – Pope Francis
We Celebrate You, Yali!
The Rivera's family is a very catholic family in Yali. The father, Mr. Rafael Rivera celebrates Saint Isidore the Laborer every year along with his children. People gather and bring their crops to be blessed during a special ceremony at their house. Father Sandino used to attend the service when he was here.

We Celebrate You, OLL!
She's back! OLL Alum, Elisabeth Ford has a second book that just came out for the literacy organization, Open Hearts Big Dreams (OHBD). The books are used as early readers for kids in Ethiopia (Elisabeth's cousin is Ethiopian) and by relief organizations for immigrants and refugees.

Her book published two years ago, "Little Lion", was sold at the OLL book fair in 2019. It is still selling well internationally and was a top seller for OHBD in July.
