Park City Schools:
Backbone of Our Great Community
Happy Holidays,

As we look toward 2023, PCEF’s staff and Board of Directors are renewed and buoyed by our mission to fund educator-powered initiatives that inspire all students to reach their academic potential.

This school year, PCEF officially launched a new Educator and Student Wellness Initiative, will host its first-ever Ideas to Impact Summit for Educators, and has embarked on organizational work to fulfill a commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

All of this is on top of PCEF's annual investment of $2 million dollars into educator-powered programs, which impact every single student in PCSD.

PCEF’s work is an expression of our community’s values.

From classroom teachers, aides, bus drivers, principals, to the Superintendent - and everyone in between! - our community shows up for our public schools because great schools are the backbone of a great community

We choose Park City because it’s an amazing place to live, raise a family, work, play... and attend school.

The new year brings fresh chances and new challenges. We are ready to meet them all together, with love and joy.

With gratitude,
Abby McNulty
Dr. Jason Rafferty, the second in PCEF's Educator and Student Wellness Speaker Series, delivered a presentation full of information and action items for parents of adolescents.

"Tripping through Adolescent Substance Abuse and Experimentation: What Parents Need to Know," addressed:

  • What parents need to know about substances teens are being exposed to/using.
  • Which substance use spiked when COVID hit.
  • Current risks.
  • How to talk to your children about this.

A full recap of the event - with answers to the above - is available when you click below.
One piece of PCEF's Educator and Student Wellness Initiative includes the Lucky Ones Coffee Camper. Each year, it visits each campus with warm drinks and treats for educators.

It's our hope that the Coffee Camper helps alleviate stress and brightens the school day (see photos here).

We know life outside of school impacts learning, too, which is why it's critical for wellness to reach beyond the classroom.

SHARP Survey:
What Is It?
While we are on the topic of Educator and Student Wellness...

At the beginning of January, parents of students in 6th, 8th, 10th, and 12th grade will receive communication from schools about the SHARP Survey.

The survey:
  • is opt-in ONLY.
  • is anonymous.
  • has a very low participation rate in Summit County.

The survey provides data for:
  • grant/federal funding to create & maintain community resources.
  • Summit Co. Health Dept. to determine community needs & program planning.
  • Evaluation of current prevention & intervention effort effectiveness.

Again, parents must opt in for this survey, which will be given in February or March, 2023.
It's Thanks To YOU:
