What is the DSWD Educational Assistance Program?
The DSWD educational assistance program is a financial aid for the education of certain people of eligibility. Back in March of 2018, they made the clarification that they are not offering a scholarship; they’re offering a type of educational assistance for indigent students and other qualified students.

How to avail the DSWD Educational Assistance Program?

Those who wish to avail the assistance may opt for two ways according to Sec. Erwin Tulfo:
1. Walk-In - Visit the DSWD Central Office or Field Offices.
2. Email - Send an email request to CIU.CO@DWSD.GOV.PH

Wait for an email confirmation from the DSWD which shall contain the date and place where you’ll get the assistance as well as the requirements you will need to submit.

Below are the necessary documentary requirements:
  1. Proof of Enrollment
  2. Authorization letter (if the applicant is not available)
  3. Valid ID of parent/guardian as well as students who are in college or taking vocational courses

What do you think about the DSWD’s educational assistance program? Do you think that this will be a big help to those students who are in need? Do you think that this educational assistance is drastically going to be an effective means of them learning even if they can’t?
