VTT ANNOUNCES ITS REIMAGINED AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM:
VTT BAYIT
Welcome to the VTT Bayit Program! We could not be more excited for the launch of the new version of our after school offering.
Our program is designed to provide proper after school supervision as well as a nurturing space for students to safely work and play.
This on-site supervision program will begin on Monday, September 14th. It will provide students in SK to Grade 3 a space to move and play after school; students in Grades 4-7 will benefit from some quiet time to finish their homework, read a book or play a quiet game. Both programs will run from 3:30-5:00 p.m. daily (until 4:30 p.m. on Fridays during regular dismissal Fridays and 3:30 p.m. on early dismissal Fridays) The last 15-20 minutes of the program will include dismissal. The Bayit will not operate on half-day dismissal days nor on Pro-D days.
All the students will be provided with a healthy snack and an opportunity to be outside, weather permitting. Both groups will be under adult supervision. Sign up will be by term with a limited number of drop in spots available. You may register for as many or as few days as you would like.
During this time students will be asked to keep their social distance. If they are together with other children from their cohort/learning group or immediate family, then they will be permitted to interact in closer proximity to one another. Our experienced supervisors will be adhering to VTT’s COVID -19 health and safety protocols.
Each day a list of students attending VTT Bayit will be sent to all teachers who will then dismiss the enrolled students to their designated Bayit location at the end of the day. Students in SK will be picked up from their classroom for the first 3 weeks of the term after which they will be dismissed to the small gym.
Parents will need to pick up their children by 5 p.m. All students will be brought to the parkade at 4:40 p.m. to commence the dismissal process. (This will begin at 4:15 on regular dismissal Fridays and 3:15 on early dismissal Fridays.)
While VTT has previously been able to offer our learning commons supervision after school free of charge, COVID-19 social distancing and health and safety restrictions require the school to increase staffing for the VTT Bayit program. Consequently there will be a $10/per student per day fee for this service.
There will be a limited number of spots available in each of the Bayit groups. If interest is high we will explore other venues and do our best to accommodate all families that are interested in this service.
We are very excited to provide our families with this COVID-friendly option and we look forward to being able to continue to work together as our VTT community grows and develops.
Registration will open on MONDAY, AUGUST 31st. A dedicated email with the link to register will be emailed to all families.
