Dear Friends,
Let’s celebrate…
Tomorrow we will celebrate the 4th of July—a day of fireworks (come see us at our booth on Friday), barbecues, and gatherings with family and friends. As followers of Christ, we are given a unique opportunity to reflect on the deeper meaning of freedom. While we celebrate the birth of our nation and the blessings of liberty, we are reminded that true freedom is found in Christ.
» We are grateful for God’s Provision - The freedoms we enjoy in America—religious liberty, the right to worship, and the ability to share the Gospel—are gifts from God. Psalm 33:12 says, Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord. As we celebrate, let’s thank God for His provision and pray for our leaders and nation, check out 1 Timothy 2:1-2.
» Freedom in Christ - While we honor our country’s independence, we remember that our ultimate freedom comes through Jesus. Galatians 5:1 declares, It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. The Gospel liberates us from sin, fear, and eternal separation from God. This is a freedom worth celebrating every day!
» Our Call to Pray and Serve - As followers of Christ, we are also called to be salt and light in our nation, Matthew 5:13-16. This Independence Day let’s pray for unity, justice, and revival in America. Let’s also look for ways to serve our community, demonstrating Christ’s love in tangible ways. Remember, service is one of our highest callings.
» Let’s Celebrate with Purpose - Whether you’re in town or out of town, having a picnic, or watching fireworks, take time to reflect on God’s goodness. Share your stories of faith with family and friends and let your joy point others to the hope we have in Jesus.
This 4th of July let’s celebrate not just as Americans, but as followers of Christ—grateful for earthly freedoms, but anchored in the eternal freedom only He can give. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed, John 8:36 (ESV).
Happy Independence Day! Happy DEPENDENCE Day on and in Christ!
Blessings, Pastor Mark
