Sign Up Now for the Virtual Race and Support Fox Valley Lutheran Homes

COVID-19 virus has had a major impact in our community. Many of us, including the tenants at Fox Valley Lutheran Homes are facing isolation and loneliness.

During the pandemic, we have cancelled all our fundraising events. In order to raise funds to continue our ministry to older adults, we are hosting a Virtual Race. Our virtual race does not have a specific location or starting time. You can run or walk in your own neighborhood or on a treadmill any time between October 2 and when the race ends on October 18. After you have finished you can upload your results so that you are recognized for your accomplishment. Our race partner, ITS Your Race, is offering a FREE app that you can download for tracking your walk or run. It’s a great way to stay active while still observing social distancing guidelines and support our cause.

The donation for each registration is $10 and we receive the entire amount (please note that there is an additional $3.25 registration service fee). You can also choose to purchase a souvenir package that includes a t-shirt, race bib, and wristband showing your support. Even if you do not want to walk or run, you can still sign up and support our ministry.
Christmas in July Success!

Thank you to all that supported our Christmas in July campaign. We are well on our way to install automatic door openers to assist our tenants entering and exiting Linwood Commons. This improvement will help keep our tenants safe and independent. We can't wait for COVID-19 to be over so we can show off our new door openers!
Thanks to Thrivent!
The Ministry of Fox Valley Lutheran Homes is able to continue to serve our tenants because of generous supporters. Are you a Thrivent policy holder that would like to support the social and/or education programs we offer to our tenants? You can apply for an Action Team grant to support a special need, project or activity right here at Linwood Place. Thrivent offers financial resources to increase the impact of the project. If you need more information about Thrivent's Action Team grants or would like help getting your request processed online click here to email our Executive Director, Lynn Ann Clausing Rusch. Featured below are examples of recent activities supported through Action Team grants.
We recently received an Action Team grant that will provide funding to purchase bird feed for the recently donated bird feeders. Our tenants are looking forward to bird watching during the upcoming months!
Our Mission and Ministry Team has received an Action Team grant to provide our tenants special "Thinking of You" treats during the next few months. COVID has made life challenging and we want our tenants to know that we appreciate them
Check Out Our Ramp Renovation!

The concrete side walls of our north side ramp have been painted by Jim Borowski from Christus Lutheran Church in Greenville. It's volunteers like Jim that help us keep FVLH in good repair! Special thanks to Christus staff for sharing our need with their members.

Check out the completed ramp project! Our tenant Pauline B suggested the ramp improvement project earlier this summer and supplied the funds for the materials to make this project happen. Pauline takes pride in her home at FVLH and is happy to see this project complete! Thank you for your support Pauline!
Patriotism Lives Here!

We are blessed to have 14 veterans in our midst at Fox Valley Lutheran Homes from all branches of military service. A new flag now flies high at our front entrance. Thank you to Matt Coenen of our Property Committee for the flag donation.
