Hello!
We are in the last month of 2021 and WOW has it been a wild year?! There is no better time than now to reflect back and see how far we have come. Whether you experienced successes or challenges this year, each one is an opportunity to learn and grow. Maybe you struggle to find the opportunity in hard times, and that's ok! The lessons we learn are not always in the moment–sometimes they find us months or years later. The important thing is that we practice self awareness and private reflection everyday.
If this all sounds unfamiliar to you, then maybe it's time to start 2022 with a goal to invest time, energy and resources into your personal growth. It might include therapy, exercise, journaling, meditating, finding a mentor, or picking up a new book. The best part is that you don't have to do everything at once, just start with a small and specific plan. I highly suggest a SMART goal template to write it out.
Here is a free template for you to use!
*Just remember the secret to a successful goal is – commitment and discipline! ; )
Cheers! 🌟
Audrey

Mental Health Experts Share Their Top 3 Tips For Surviving The Holiday Season: A Blog & Survival Guide
|
|
“It’s the most wonderful time of the year,” a song that rings throughout elevators, restaurants and shopping malls at this time of year. But what if it’s not how you actually feel? Instead of feeling the joy and cheer, you find yourself feeling overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected, lonely or stressed. We are all continuing to navigate the transitional period of the pandemic in 2021. This holiday season may be your first time traveling, or seeing extended family, or attending a large gathering, and so even if the holiday season has always been a joyous experience in the past, this year may feel different ⎼ and that’s okay! Mental health experts Audrey Grunst, LCSW & Brittany Polacek, LPC are here to help with their top three tips to surviving the holiday season.
3 Tips For Surviving The Holidays
Tip #1: Create Boundaries
Boundaries are rules or limits that we create to protect and care for ourselves. Whether this year presents new challenges or this has always been an area of struggle, take 5 minutes to reflect and write down what a successful holiday season would look and feel like to you.

Event Feedback & Testimonies
I thought it was a great presentation [Finding Strength: How To Mentally Cope With COVID]. There were so many helpful ideas, think things through and feel things through; take time to sit with feelings before moving ahead. THANK YOU! ~Denise L.

I loved the metaphors used [in Growing A Resilient Mind: Parent Edition] such as “Bird’s Eye view”, “Floating over the trees”, “Firefighter”, “bridge or a rainbow” made it so much more clear. Most memorable skill for me was how to observe and become more mindful of the feelings and thoughts, how to create a space needed to have a better control of your urges. ~Vida P.

My daughter had a great experience [at the November Self-Care Sunday Workshop Series]. She loved the activities and learned more about wellness and friendship. She has already asked when the next session will begin. ~Karen A.

I really liked the feel of the presentation [Finding Strength: How To Mentally Cope With COVID] - despite being virtual - it felt hands-on with Audrey encouraging viewers to actually work on an issue that they are currently dealing with and step-by-step identifying the related thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and urges. ~Tricia W.

Back by popular demand! Facilitators Emily Plesnicar, MA, Stephanie Bersh, RYT-200, and Stephanie Smith, M.A., M.Ed., Health & Nutrition Coach combined their expertise to provide tangible self-care strategies and engaging weekly take home activities for middle school girls to grow a strong mind, strong body, and strong heart.
The middle school years can be a challenging time for many teens as they develop their own identities and interact with those around them. The Self-Care Sunday series was created to help teens navigate these years with a sense of confidence, self-esteem, stress management tools and healthy habits to take care of their well-being.

Posititive Parenting Methods E-Book
|
|
Several Simply Bee clinicians studied the concepts and principles of Alfred Adler at Adler University and now put them into practice in their work at Simply Bee with their clients. Katie Klein, LCPC, takes a high level look at several of them in this new e-book, Positive Parenting Methods: Adlerian Parenting Style Training.
Adler's vision was to help cultivate capable, resilient and creative children. His parenting methods focus on mutual respect, social interest, psychological birth order, cooperative problem solving, the four goals of misbehavior and the family meeting.
Download this e-book to learn more about how you can implement these insightful and pragmatic ideas to transform your parent-child relationships today.
