What's Current Around the Bay | MAY 2026 |
| Pickleball Courts at Riverwalk Park Are Now Open | | The BBCA is excited to announce that the pickleball courts at Riverwalk Park are officially open. Before playing on the new pickleball courts, pelase review the courts schedule, approved paddles list, and court rules on the BBCA website here (under "Pickleball"). Read the official courts opening announcement here. | | Important Announcement About Our Entrance Lights | | While the entrance lights have been a delight for many residents, the rainy season promotes tree growth that the wrapped lights unfortunately inhibit. To give our trees the space they need to grow, the lights will be removed in May. | | Hurricane Season Starts June 1 | | |
With Hurricane Season starting June 1, we encourage all residents to familiarize themselves with the resources available on the BBCA website and mobile app, located on the "Hurricane Preparedness" page or here. Most importantly, ensure you have multiple ways of receiving forecasts and alerts, and know what to do before, during, and after a storm.
To sign up for BBCA's emergency text notifications system, text bonitabay to 1-888-915-3591. To sign up for emergency notifications from Lee County, click here.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) also provides resources to help you better understand how to prepare for this upcoming storm season. Click here to access these resources.
