Principal's message:
Happy Friday Coyotes! It was short week, and I know we're all looking forward to another three day weekend. Both baseball and softball started off their seasons with big wins, BP students received more acceptances and scholarships to colleges around the US, and we're getting ready for Frosh Fest and the Winter Play next week! I hope you're all still riding high from the Rams victory last weekend in the Super Bowl. It was such an exciting game. Lastly, we'd like to introduce the newest member of our Pack, Mr. Mark Kailiponi. Mark will be assuming the role of Assistant Principal of Student Services and will oversee such activities as student attendance, student interventions, 504s, McKinney Vento, ELAC, etc. We're excited to have Mark on the team...Welcome to the Pack!

This past weekend our lady Coyotes wrestling team traveled to Corona high school for the 2022 CIF Wrestling Tournament. Congratulations to Vanessa Andrade, making it to the 2nd and final day of CIF with a record of 5-2. Vanessa placed 7th at CIF out of 40 girls in her weight class. She has come a really long way from where she started and has a mindset like no other when it comes time to step on the mat. She’s a humble young lady with a very bright future ahead of her. Her Coaches are incredibly proud of Vanessa for always pushing herself and never quitting, even when things get hard. She’s a very disciplined scholar athlete and for that we are very proud of her accomplishments this year and can’t wait for what she has to bring next year. To keep up with Vanessa’s journey at masters follow us @bphswrestling.

BPHS A.R.M Program Director Mr. Nehme and I met with representatives from RBC Bearings Inc. to discuss a future partnership to provide BPHS students internships starting as early as this summer! We were able to get an amazing tour of their facility right here in our own backyard, and see the synergy between what they do and our program. More information to come as we hash out the details, but the potential opportunities could be amazing and we look forward to this new relationship going forward.

Buena Park High School values all student’s social-emotional health, and we have developed a center that houses resources to support students throughout the day. Students who need a safe place to cope with anxiety, stress or need someone to talk to can visit our COYOTE CORNER (Room 27) at the front of the school. The Corner is open before and after school, during lunch and breaks, by appointment with a therapist, or with a pass from a teacher or administrator. Students...do you know your SLOs

|
|
Student Learning Outcomes
|
The purpose of SLOs are to increased student awareness of their own learning
Explicitly-stated learning goals give students a way to think and talk about what they have learned. They make it easier for students to “know what they know” and give students a language to communicate what they know to others. Such awareness is considered central to learning that lasts.
