Principal's message:
Happy Friday everyone! As we get closer to the end of this third quarter, I hope all students are focused and working toward operating at the highest level possible. Make sure you're grades are trending in the right direction and you are working towards always growing as a student in all your classes. It begins with ensuring you are in-class/on-time, our school wide campaign to focus on elevating our standards here at BP. Parents, we look forward to partnering with you as we encourage these routines to become commonplace for those still struggling.
Our successes as a school continue to roll in. See below for some special staff and student spotlight recognitions. It was a great week in Coyote athletics with Baseball, Softball, Track, and Swim all notching victories. Our Coyote Dance Production will be performing at the district dance festival tonight, and there's more CAVPA performances on the horizon. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend...it's a great time to be a Coyote!

He shut out the Warriors in the final four innings of the game to seal the win. Manny also led the offense going 2 for 3 while adding an RBI. Anthony Santillan and Eric Garcia added to the offense, each going 1 for 3 with an RBI. Neil Navarro hit the go ahead RBI to take the lead on a sacrifice fly! Varsity takes on Sunny Hills High School in a home contest today at 3:15. JV will be traveling to Sunny HIlls in an away contest at 3:15. Good luck boys.

Varsity Softball notched two more wins this week in what looked like a couple football scores. They beat Oxford Academy 22-2 to start the week. Sam Orozco had two triples, a double, and made a nice diving double play, Annie Perez had an inside-the-park homerun, Savannah Salgado had two triples, and Daniella Orozco hit a solo homerun. They finished the week off beating estancia 15-0. Jade Sanchez and Isabella Lara led the way, collectively pitching a one-hit game! Savannah Salgado, Annie Perez, and Isabella Lara led the offense all hitting triples. Daniella Orozco added to the offensive onslaught with a double. Great week ladies!

BPHS A.R.M Program Director Mr. Nehme and I met with representatives from RBC Bearings Inc. to discuss a future partnership to provide BPHS students internships starting as early as this summer! We were able to get an amazing tour of their facility right here in our own backyard, and see the synergy between what they do and our program. More information to come as we hash out the details, but the potential opportunities could be amazing and we look forward to this new relationship going forward.

Coyote Corner
"Support is just around the corner"

Buena Park High School values all student’s social-emotional health, and we have developed a center that houses resources to support students throughout the day. Students who need a safe place to cope with anxiety, stress or need someone to talk to can visit our COYOTE CORNER (Room 27) at the front of the school. The Corner is open before and after school, during lunch and breaks, by appointment with a therapist, or with a pass from a teacher or administrator. Please stop in and visit and know that "Support is just around the CORNER."

Students...do you know your SLOs
|
|
|
|
Student Learning Outcomes
|
The purpose of SLOs are to increased student awareness of their own learning
Explicitly-stated learning goals give students a way to think and talk about what they have learned. They make it easier for students to “know what they know” and give students a language to communicate what they know to others. Such awareness is considered central to learning that lasts.
