DRAGON'S FIRE WANTS YOU!

Dragon's Fire wants to hear about what's going on in our school community.

Please submit articles and pictures to  Dragon's Fire  by 3 PM on Friday
to be in the following week's newsletter.

Do you know anyone who should be getting Dragon's Fire but isn't? Just send them this link!

Amazon donates 5% of the price of your eligible AmazonSmile purchases  to the CSCA which funds the programs that make The Center School what it is.

WELCOME TO THE DRAGON'S FIRE!
You'll see this is a "CSCA Publication" ... the CSCA is The  Center School's name for our PTSA.

And while this is the  CSCA-run newsletter, it's also how TCS communicates things like calendar changes, upcoming events, community news, etc.

The CSCA supports students, faculty and families through fundraising (drama, Writers in the Schools, part-time teacher, pottery, student events, principal's fund, etc.), sharing resources and education, advocacy and communication.

We are still looking to fill a few open positions. Please let us know if you're interested or want more information.

Junior parent to chair Senior Event committee
This is a great way to front load your volunteerism so you don't feel bad next year and can just focus on your senior! :)

Treasurer
We have a great treasurer but are looking to spread the load with a co-treasurer.

Race and Equity Committee Chair
Support the work of staff and students and recruitment/retention!
Last year the committee put on a great parent ed night on understanding implicit bias.
LAST-MINUTE HELP NEEDED!
We know it's short notice, but if you have time (or were already planning on coming by TCS on Tuesday, September 4th anyway), the staff needs help with the First Day Packets. In the mood for some envelope-stuffing? Have we got a job for you!

We are so sad to say goodbye to Linda, but looking forward to meeting our new college and career counselor. More updates to come!

TECHATHON
The Bush School is organizing the fourth annual TeenTechWA Techathon on October 12, 2018.

We are looking forward to seeing your students join us in designing, prototyping, and pitching creative projects that will answer a societal need in one of three broad categories. On hand will be mentors from industry to help guide the students in their development process and to show some of the steps that make an effective design possible.
