MEASLES ALERT!
The SPS Health Team is sharing this important message:

"Governor Jay Inslee has issued a State of Emergency due to the outbreak of Measles primarily in Clark County. There is currently one confirmed case of measles reported in King County. Measles is extremely contagious as the virus travels through the air. We do not currently have any cases of measles in the Seattle School District.

Please monitor your child for signs of measles (fever. Diarrhea, coughing, runny nose, red and watery eyes, tiredness with a rash that begins on the face and spreads to the entire body).

Make sure to protect yourself and your children with  MMR vaccine . If you have questions about your child's MMR vaccination status, please contact your health care provider, your school nurse, or Health Services at 206-252-0750. The MMR vaccine is available to children through our 25 school-based health center sites."

AUCTION - BE PART OF THE TEAM
Calling all TCS parents and supporters!! To provide the best education for our kids in 2019, let's all work together to meet our goal of raising $40,000 at the CSCA Beach Party Auction on March 29, 2019.

Be The Master of All Things Sweet & Decadent!!
We are looking for someone to take charge of our
Dessert Dash at the auction!

It involves procuring desserts for the auction. We can give you a list of bakeries to get you started. Volunteers can help you pick up, transport, and display 15 desserts at the auction. We'd like desserts that are better than just going to the local grocery store's cake department. Maybe cupcakes from Trophy Cupcakes or Cupcake Royale. Or how about cakes or a plate full of macrons from specialty bakeries from around town like Bakery Nouveau?

Contact  Rosina Geary  to sign up or get more information.

Sponsorship Opportunities
Enjoy exclusive benefits by sponsoring this event -
including the advertising of your name and/or company logo throughout our community at the event and in our school newsletter which is sent to all families by email and posted on Facebook.

Thank you for your support! Please feel free to print out the forms below or email Angie Johnson if you know someone who may be interested.
Procurement - Looking for Auction Items
  • Do you have a cabin or vacation rental you could donate for a weekend/week?
  • What about a certificate for a hotel stay, or airline miles you could transfer to a voucher for a ticket?
  • Do you or someone you know own a business that would donate something cool?
  • Maybe you have a valuable collectible or piece of art you're ready to part with?
  • Did you receive a gift card or household item over the holidays that you won't use

Donate it to our silent auction!! The proceeds of our auction will help the CSCA to provide activity scholarships, art supplies, theatre costumes, and much, much more.

Click here for a link to the procurement form.  We're happy to arrange for pick up or drop off of the item.

For pick-up or questions, please contact TCS auction co-chairs Lisa Riebe or Chrissy Helkey.

Thank you so much for your support of our awesome little school!!
BLACK LIVES MATTER AT SCHOOL

Educators across the country are currently gearing up for this year's Black Lives Matter at School action.
TCS staff voted that every teacher at Center School dedicate at least one lesson
during the week of
February 4-8 to affirm that Black Lives Matter at Center School.

Each of the five days of the week is tied to a theme from the Black Lives Matter movement's  13 principles:

Monday: Restorative Justice, Empathy and Loving Engagement
Tuesday: Diversity and Globalism
Wednesday: Trans-Affirming, Queer Affirming and Collective Value
Thursday: Intergenerational, Black Families and Black Villages
Friday: Black Women and Unapologetically Black

Find more information at blacklivesmatteratschool.com.
SHARE YOUR VOICE - FOCUS DAY
February 11 is Focus Day in Olympia, a special day
of advocacy hosted by the Washington State PTA. If you are able to attend and make appointments with your legislators to advocate for our schools, please do. To learn more, click here.
CHANGE IS COMING & WE NEED YOUR HELP
Change is all around us and one change that we hope that you will find helpful is the expansion of the TCS website. Please take a look periodically to see what's happening at TCS to support our students.

Another change is occurring in the Career Center. We're creating binders to hold informational materials about universities, colleges, technical schools, certificate programs and other post-secondary opportunities. Hopefully this will make it easier for you to investigate options for life after high school. Work on  Instagram is coming.

So, Students, Parents/Guardians, Friends,

If you like organizing things, have a knack for creating web content, like writing, have artistic skills, or simply want to get involved - contact Mrs. de Normandie and share in these exciting endeavors. Your efforts will look great on your college apps and resume, and you'll help design a new marketing look for our school.
