We received $14,038 from the American Rescue Plan Act through the Institute of Museum and Library Services and from the Connecticut State Library. Limited by the grant parameters, we purchased some Personal Protective Equipment (PPE, masks and sanitizer), a new patron counter, new cables for the charging stations, and outside furniture to take advantage of our wi-fi. Patrons can access the internet on their devices AND charge them without having to enter the building and it is available 24/7.

We are happy to be able to provide expanded work areas and resources for everyone in our community. Such improvements to increase and enhance technology access will benefit the town now and in the future. Moreover, one of the rules of the grant was that we provide a preference for the purchase of materials produced in the United States. So, we stimulated the economy too!

Pictured above: Staff members, Debbie Moerschell (r) and Kate Zarin (l) make use of our new solar powered table with charging ports and bench with a solar powered charger installed right next to it.
