Bringing County Services to the Community

DeKalb County Human Services hosted Community Connect Day at East Ponce Village to bridge the gap between the community and the necessary resources by bringing various County service providers and community organizations together under one roof.

Over 200 residents enthusiastically participated in the event, which showcased a wide range of essential services and resources. Thanks to DeKalb County departments and partnering organizations, more than 150 individuals received COVID and HIV kits, empowering them with the necessary tools to protect their health and well-being.

The residents were overjoyed by the convenience of having vital services brought directly to their doorstep. Many took advantage of the opportunity to update their voter registration records, ensuring their voices would be heard in upcoming elections. Additionally, the event provided residents with invaluable information regarding job training and education opportunities, offering them a pathway towards personal and professional growth.

This community event would not have been possible without participation from DeKalb County Human Services staff, DeKalb County Police Department, DeKalb County Fire Rescue, DeKalb County Public Library, WorkSource DeKalb, DeKalb County Voter Registration and Elections, DeKalb County Board of Health, SwemKids, Parlay Food Truck, Habitat for Humanity, Empowerline, DJ Verge and Jumpstastic.
