Reading Buddies
Reading Buddies, a signature Retired Senior Volunteer Program, began in 1995. Elementary teachers partner with RSVP to offer this volunteer opportunity. Volunteers and students read together weekly for 30 minutes. Students choose their favorite books to share with their reading buddy. If you are interested in reading with students weekly for 30 minutes, please email or call to indicate which school. We do know that COVID has many unknowns and may affect our Reading Buddies program. Please plan to wear a mask and use hand sanitizer. Invite your friends to participate so we may pair students one on one with volunteers.
· We understand there may be times when you cannot participate. Just email if you have a conflict.
· RSVP provides a book for all volunteers to give to their buddy twice a year.
· We want all children to be treated equally so ask our volunteers to respect this by not bringing gifts or treats for your buddy. If you'd like to bring a treat for the class, check with the teacher.
· Confidentiality is a core value of Reading Buddies. If the child mentions an issue that concerns you, please share it with the teacher at a private moment.
· Reading Buddies is not held on school holidays or during inclement weather. If cancelled, an email or phone call will be made to all volunteers ASAP
· Email or call Teri Royer with any questions

Stately Stitchers Quilt Retreat
Learn from Richy Lainson, a quilt designer for Moda/Basic Grey Fabrics.
On Friday night we will do a fun make-and-take project using selvages. We will have kits for everyone to make a simple block with selvages that you can turn into a pincushion, mug rug, or even use in a larger project. If you've been saving selvages, please bring them with you. If you haven't already done so, it's easy to cut off the selvages so that you have larger and prettier pieces to work with. You'll just need your sewing machine.
