The first Tuesday of every month we pack senior boxes.  These are food commodities distributed to our low income seniors throughout central SD.  We are in need of 20-30 volunteers for this project.

Mabel's Family Support Group - Alzheimer's & Dementia
Whether you've been care-giving for years or just starting out, support groups offer an opportunity to learn, share your knowledge, and plan for the future. We hope you will join us as we provide support to one another through the various stages of dementia and Alzheimer's disease. Stanley Post 20 American Legion will meet the first Wednesday of every month at the Moose Lodge in Fort Pierre, SD. There will be a potluck dinner at 6:00 p.m. and a membership meeting starting at 7:00 p.m. All veterans are invited to attend and enjoy a meal on  Post 20 and have fun.

Open to all women who have had a breast cancer diagnosis. It is an opportunity to ask questions, share your experience and receive support. Women who have been diagnosed with other cancers are also invited to attend. The meetings are informal and last about an hour. Feel free to bring a lunch.

The Pierre-Fort Pierre Zonta Club's annual Holiday Vendor & Craft Show offers unique gifts and food for all of your holiday preparations.
If you are looking for the perfect holiday gift or something unique for your home's holiday decor, you'll be sure to find it among the craft and vendor booths at the Zonta Holiday Vendor & Craft show. This year's show continues the Zonta Club's long-standing tradition of holding craft shows to raise money to fund local organizations and educational scholarships. The Club is part of Zonta International that works on projects world-wide, helping women improve their health, education and economic condition.

Author Talk
R. Eli Paul will discuss via telephone the book "The Frontier Army." The book consists of seven essays that provide new insights into the Army's role in present-day South Dakota and the Black Hills between 1854 and 1890. Paul wrote one of he essays and edited the book. Everyone is welcome to attend the free program. The book is sold at the Heritage Stores at the Cultural Heritage Center and the Capitol.
