THE NEW DICE MONITOR

June 2023 EDITION

My Vision

The New DICE

We have been using The New DICE in advertising, presentations, and articles for quite a while already. But it seems appropriate to now share again why the name change.

There is a perception in the industry of who DICE is, but perceptions can be misleading. The perception has been that DICE is only a monitoring automation software company that was expensive. While some of that may have been true, the reality is that today DICE is quite a different company and that is part of our vision.

DICE is an infrastructure company that has over 70 products, including accounting, billing, and service modules, and is much more than monitoring automation software. All products are unified, integrated, and embedded on our platform so data is only entered once. In addition, our company provides telephony and telecom, network and infrastructure, UL 827A & ULC data centers, and disaster recovery, which are all on the cloud. That has made the cost of our software very affordable and providing you a complete solution.

But beyond those extremely exciting changes we have a vision for the future of where we see the industry headed. We call it DICE 2030. Beyond video, analytics, and artificial intelligence, it revolutionizes the complete monitoring ecosystem we have today. The world is changing, and DICE knows that we need to keep up. The industry must keep up. Many innovations are already here, and many are coming soon.

These new technologies will use object detection, human behavior, and filtration for video monitoring. This opens up new possibilities, new opportunities and new types of services. Another point to consider is how IoT will fit in with central station monitoring and what new services will it open up.

The world is changing and has already changed. If the security industry doesn’t keep up, we will be left behind.

There is so much more. I encourage you to schedule a demo and see for yourself and for your company what the New DICE has for the industry today and for tomorrow.

The IPtelX Solution for the POTS Sunset

Customer Testimonials

IPtelX: Millions of Panels Already Connected for Over 10 Years and Over 10 Million Satisfied Subscribers

Did you know that IPtelX and DICE have millions of panels already connected for over 10 years and over 10 million satisfied subscribers? Here are four customer testimonials from industry veterans who are taking advantage of the IPtelX solution for the POTS sunset...

“It's amazing how many VoIP communication issues were cleared by transferring away from our local PRI's and POTS lines to IPTelX's SIP service.”

Steven Coppola, President

Statewide Monitoring, Corp.

Moving to IPtelX has provided us with a cost effective and reliable telecom service that other telecom companies we have used previously have not come close.

Brandon Niles, Director of Operations

Acadian

“For many years we have used tw telecom, level 3 and Lumen TDM services, which have been very stable and successful with POT transmissions. However, we are moving off those TDM circuits as Lumen is disconnecting TDM services and no longer supporting new TDM circuits. Over the last five years or so we made a business decision to move a significant segment of our toll-free telecommunication services to IPTelX utilizing the DICE receiver farm for geo redundancy routing and flexibility. This has proven to be a successful and stable alternative to other mainstream carriers. An added benefit is having a security industry knowledgeable carrier when it comes to addressing any challenges in communications.”

Teresa Gonzalez, President

UCC

“With the ever-changing telephony environment, it has been helpful to have IPTelX’s SIP Trunk phone lines as an alternate route to restore clean communication.”

Andy Lowitt, President

Metrodial Corporation

IPtelX: A licensed telecom carrier in the US and Canada, and the only one in the alarm industry that has an Alarm Signal Network

The industry is talking about the POTS sunset, but we are calling it the POTS sunrise and an opportunity for you to be included in our over 10 million satisfied suscribers. Give us a call. We'll help you to understand the options and help you make the right decision for your company.

Rhombus and DICE

A Partnership with Great Benefits for You

Rhombus will soon integrate seamlessly into the DICE platform! We are now finalizing the integration with Rhombus that will open up new opportunities for customers on both sides. Meanwhile, here are just a few of the services and benefits you can expect.

  • Any movement
  • Unusual behaviour
  • Vehicle movement
  • Human movement
  • Face alerts
  • License plate recognition
  • Helmet missing
  • Visual tampering of devices
  • High occupancy count

Rhombus will be easily incorporated into the platform so you will be able to leverage Rhombus data and analytics to enable real time monitoring and response. DICE empowers alarm monitoring centers everywhere to take immediate action as your virtual guard. That means each of those alerts from Rhombus will generate a prioritized event into the DICE Matrix Interactive event monitoring platform for enabling real time monitoring and interaction to the site via professional operators 24/7. Stay tuned...more to come!

The Opportunity to Add Video Monitoring Services to Existing Surveillance Systems

There are many opportunities for selling and adding video monitoring services to end users with existing surveillance systems.

Considering not only the number of current unmonitored systems, but also the technological advances being made in video, artificial intelligence, AI analytics and real time monitoring technologies, it is a logical next step to add video event monitoring services.

Bridging the Two Sides

The goal is to show the traditional video surveillance market the benefits and add these new services. In other words, bridge the current industry monitoring stations infrastructure with the traditional video surveillance market.

While video services are available today, the ratio of camera installations compared to video monitoring services is minimal. The challenge is that current technologies and business models aren’t scaled.

Cameras with Analytics = Video Sensors

For instance, cameras with analytics would act as video sensors that can be monitored by service providers in real time. That means, like traditional alarm systems, video zones can be created, allowing end users to arm and disarm areas of the system. Current real time interactive event monitoring by a variety of service providers will then provide new capabilities of both security and business management services that will enhance surveillance and increase security for command centers and end users.

What Can We Do with All the Video?

Let's be honest. The fact is that simply recording 24/7, most of the video data today is not being used. Real time AI analytics technologies combined with real time event monitoring takes all the video that is being seen and recorded, which basically lies dormant, and offers these new capacities in security and business management to enable the industry to resell unused video data using the a new business morel with enhanced services.

A New Business Model with Enhanced Services

This opens new doors and becomes a new model that combines the current and new industry structures. Working together, these new security capabilities include remote guarding, virtual doorman, virtual video tours, and a wide menus of other new services. Business management services include shoplifting detection, video verified open/close, abnormal behavior analytic detection, people counting, real time intervention, productivity monitoring, and asset management. This was/is only partially possible with today’s traditional video surveillance market.

Real World Example

A camera views a parking lot... all video streams are pushed to an AI video engine for processing and analysis. Specific AI detection enables low priority data to “just” be recorded, high priority data would initiate video event to monitoring station for real time handing/intervention and medium priority data would automatically initiate notification to end user via SMS, What’sUp, etc.

Your Opportunity

Let's respond to the changes being made in today’s world and the incredible technological innovation we see around us. These existing surveillance systems are low hanging fruit that need these services. The goal is to take advantage of this new business model and not be left behind. DICE is ready to work with you to make this opportunity a reality. Contact us to learn more and see a demo.

Smart Search Investigation Tool for End Users

Did you know that Matrix includes a Smart Search Tool for end users? It can be used as an investigation tool when a certain event needs to be reviewed, such as for a criminal or liability case.

End users can be given access to a secure, cloud-based, smart search engine that shows a quality view of a live stream, video events, with a video timeline, that is connected to multi-camera zones.

This has nothing to do with monitoring but a service that can be offered to clients. Video events are stored and can be searched by day, time type of event, zip code, city, type of camera, etc. This is a great selling tool.
