My Vision
The New DICE and Our Infrastructure Management Services
| |
|
As new technologies emerge, you need to keep up with those changes in order to remain competitive. There are definite costs in knowledge and manpower to keep up. That's why it's important for companies to invest in their IT infrastructure on a regular basis.
What does that have to do with DICE? The perception of DICE is that we are an automation software company for central station monitoring. While that is true, we are so much more!
Did you know that DICE is also an IT infrastructure company? Let me explain exactly what we provide and why it may be important for your business. And before I continue, let me stress that this applies for companies that are using any automation software and not Matrix.
As an infrastructure company, DICE provides hardware, software, and networking components that your company needs to operate your IT systems.
IT infrastructure is vital of any modern-day company, especially in our industry. It allows your company to store, process, and share information, as well as communicate.
DICE can provide a well-maintained IT infrastructure that can help you improve your efficiency, productivity, and profitability. We take the burden off your shoulders.
But there's even more, check out some of the articles below and see how we are providing additional services to meet the industry's technology needs.
We have stood the test of time for over 35 years and continues to stay ahead of future technologies. We are the New DICE, an infrastructure and software company.
As I previously mentioned we host ANY automation software... In fact, we already host many of our competitors.
I understand that this is a big change for some of you. Give us a call and we will walk you through, answer your questions, and see if this is the right solution for your company.

Let DICE Take the Burden and Expenses of
Infrastructure Management Off Your Shoulders
| |
| |
We'll Do the Heavy Lifting
As an infrastructure company, DICE provides the hardware, software, and networking components that you need. As you know, with today's cloud infrastructure, applications and data are accessible from anywhere. That is important for redundancy and UL requirements in a central station.
In our data center, we will host your automation software. We already host many of our competitor's software here. In our receiver farm, we can either co-locate your receivers or lease space. We have all receivers and even our own IP receiver that can take all signals.
By having DICE provide any or all these services, there will be:
- No need to host your own receivers
- No need to be concerned about cybersecurity
- No need to worry about updates and compatibility
- No need to purchase and maintain new equipment
- No need for substantial in-house IT support
- and much more
Let DICE help you modernize your infrastructure to achieve cost benefits, a strong network, and innovation opportunities. Contact us and take the first step towards transforming your IT infrastructure.

Canadian Central Stations:
Be Prepared for 2025. DICE Has the ONLY ULC Compliant Data Center!
| |
|
Great news for Canadian central stations...DICE's UL data center in Bay City, Michigan, is now ULC compliant for Canada!
Any central station that has dealers in Canada and the United States can now be hosted in the DICE center and operate in both countries simultaneously. Even central stations that are not using Matrix Interactive, or any other DICE product, can take advantage of the ULC compliance.
That's because by 2025, ULC has stated that central stations must have redundancy - two facilities, at least 500 miles apart. It's a massive investment for most central stations. The option here is to build your own or run it in DICE data centers and take advantage of all of our additional infrastructure benefits as well.
To develop the Canadian standard, ULC looked at every detail of the DICE data center including how the building is built, how the fire suppression systems work, redundancy, backups, failovers, power and infrastructure networks, telecom, receiver management, software management, and the disaster plans and procedures that are in place.
We are the first and only data center to be ULC Compliant! If you do not want to make the investment of building your own data center, give us a call to see how we can cut your costs and help you to be ULC Listed.

...and on the U.S. Side
UL Renews DICE's Bay City Data Center with UL Compliance
| |
|
Time for renewal and UL again inspected our Bay City Data Center.
We passed with flying colors! Contact us to see how our UL-Compliant data center can not only provide redundancy, but also help with your IT infrastructure requirements.

IPtelX Completes Another
Successful Telecom Project
Provides UCC with a Large Transfer of Numbers in a Short Time
Coupled with the DICE Receiver Farm
| |
|
IPtelX successfully ported the largest bulk transfer of numbers within days for UCC (United Central Control). Our solution provided geo redundancy and delivered signaling directly into UCC’s automation software. This eliminated physical phone lines within UCC facilities and old receiver equipment that they no longer needed to maintain. Instead of needing receivers onsite, UCC also took advantage of the DICE Receiver Farm, which gave them a complete solution.
The reason for the rapid porting of numbers was that UCC received a notice from Lumen, one of their existing carriers, that they would be shutting down one of the larger circuits. That had been farmed out to AT&T, who decided not to maintain the circuit past July 31, 2023.

|
Additional Benefits
UCC Continues to Experience the POTS Sunrise Rather than the POTS Sunset
| |
The challenge according to Teresa Gonzalez, president of UCC, is that large industry carriers are moving everything from analog and TDM to IP and ethernet services, but there are still literally tens of thousands of analog solutions still out in the field.
“We could not get them the large carriers to understand that we just can't move everything onto a sip trunk or everything to ethernet services because the panels in the field tend to have communication issues with routing through different circuits,” added Mike Lamb, Administration and Compliance Manager for UCC.
“For instance, a lot of the older panel types go over newer type circuits and if they route through a path that has suppression or echo or any kind of noise on the line there is going to be communication issues within the central station from that panel. IPtelX put solutions in place to help with that end-to-end solution. They identified other carriers’ routing paths that are causing these issues to help streamline and reduce communication problems.”
Teresa also shared that she would absolutely recommend the solution to other central stations. Transferring that many numbers in such a short time, speaks tremendously to the professionalism of both IPtelX and DICE.”

What's New in Matrix
SD-Wan VPN services with Cyber Security
and Automated Registration of Devices
No need for IT Techs to Set Up Networking - Simple, Scalable Installation for Alarm Companies
| |
|
The New DICE has introduced a patented Matrix SD-WAN platform with AI VPN connections to the site, the highest level of cyber security, automated site network mapping, and registration of all devices on a private network.
Perfect for dealers and integrators, this new service includes tunneling and full network management for cameras, NVRs, alarm panels, and other devices with built-in cyber security site isolation and automated AI VPN credentialing.
This means that there is no need for dealers to manage networking and no NAT rules need to be created to connect any device at the client site. There is no need to open ports, firewall hole punching, port forwarding or any other networking procedure. This makes setting up site devices and connecting to them easy for installers and provides a simple site management network for connecting and maintaining all site equipment.
Much more than a standard VPN, Matrix AI VPN maps the network and automatically registers all devices, including the cameras, bringing them all online. Users simply name the camera and create zones in the automation software. In the past, users needed to manually enter the IP address, login, password, and have a variety of tools to manage thousands of sites. With full management connectivity to the site, Matrix AI VPN saves security companies time and money.
We’ve made this scalable, allowing registering and managing tens of thousands or millions of sites. Matrix AI VPN is built into the Matrix automation platform, with no need to invest in VPN hardware or network engineers building VPNs to each site. The big advantage is that we're taking the workload off network technicians and making it easier for dealers to offer networked video and other services.
Dealers can access Matrix AI VPN through central stations with Matrix Interactive.
